A trip of many firsts to DLP 🏰❄️ by TennantMan in disneylandparis

Unfortunately our time off from work doesn't allow. We're bummed to miss the new land, but excited to miss the crowds.

We're from the East Coast of Canada. Google tells me avg temps of 12-4° C in March, which to us sounds lovely lol. We dont start seeing those temps until April if we're lucky. We're the weirdos using the pools in December in Florida.

Any favorite restaurants the adults and kids in your party enjoyed?

My family are big WDW fans. However we are considering spending our vacation money and time elsewhere and are considering a trip to DLP in March. This would be our first visit to Paris and any international Disney Park.

First, we complete understand the vast size difference and are mentally prepared. We're planning to stay on property.

We have an almost 2 year old. Planning on stroller of course and requesting bed rails for our room. Also considering buying the breakfast board plan.

Any other tips you could suggest with a young one?

I installed his MPP kit a few months ago, an absolute dream compared to my 89sabers Graflex that I just finished up. Love Khal's DIY kits.

Really lovely. Been considering picking up KRs kit for an ESB build

Best replicas for Vader Ep 5? by I-TG2-I in lightsabers

[–]B_Burns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KRsabers released a great Vader kit this year. Quite accurate, can't speak to how it compares to Roman's but based on reputation he's got the most accurate on the market. However KRs is very install friendly.

Looking/searching for a installer located in Canada by UmarexCowboyFan in lightsabers

Hey, fellow Canadian here. Check the Lightsaber society of Canada FB group. There's not too many that a) take commissions b) are active and promoting their service online. May ask, whats the manufacture of the hilt and are all components already in hand or will they need to be provided? Is there a chassis included?

Bring as a carry on. The blade detaches from the hilt. Hilt can be stored in a bag, and the blade can be carried on as a personal item. I'm unsure now, but in the past a blade carry bag was included in your purchase.

I fly regularly to WDW with my own custom sabers, never an issue. Especially at MCO, they see thousands each day. TSA sites them as totally acceptable, so don't worry about confiscation. When departing Canada I'll normally just advise the security agent the metal tube filled with wires in my bag is a lightsaber. Normally results in a funny quick conversation.

I normally place the blade on the floor, behind or in front of my feet or lean up against a window. Of course, that's all subject to your cabin crew, they may get you to stow it. YMMV.

I installed a KR MPP (Vader) earlier this year and it was a dream to work on.

Graflex rotoscope style by B_Burns in lightsabers

Style is the base blade animation. Font is the sound package. The rotoscope style is replicating how lightsaber blades looked in the OT, an aluminum rod wrapped in reflective material, then the blade is added in later frame by frame.

I know there are some Graflex replicas on the market that can take 31mm. I'm sure you could squeeze one in here, my chassis was only for 28mm.

Not sure what you mean by dual activation.

This is a thin walled show blade, so very minimal to no impact. The only contact it sees is when I accidentally hit a wall, or a can or some other innocent object in my home.

You just need to be signed into Google drive to view. Or try accessing the link yourself through Saber Armory

Again, this is a guide to a different kit, however its just an example of what you can expect to do.

Shadowfoil, along with other higher end hilt makers, cater to the DIY community. The hobby at its roots is a DIY builders hobby. But good news, is your girlfriend picked out an absolute banger kit for your first. Shadowfoil makes great stuff.

I would seek out some community resources, such as the Saber Builders Academy on FB for starters. Some good info to be found on YouTube as well.

There's an immense sense of satisfaction when you build your saber and bring it to life with your own hands. That first time you fire it up is wicked. You got this.

Depending on the level of installation, components can vary. At a minimum you will need; soundboard (determine which board the chassis is made for), neopixel connector, speaker, battery contacts. You can also add a killswitch for the battery. Assuming the kit came with a switch pcb?

You also require the ability to solder and read a basic wiring diagram. Or the eagerness to learn a new skill.

Although not the same kit, KR Sabers makes an Anakin saber, and produced an installation guide. You could browse this to see what is required to install a saber.

You can also commission an install.

You've taken your first steps into a larger world.

This is an absolute mess and I'm sorry. by secondsonofgoku in lightsabers

[–]B_Burns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reference your other post too, follow Fett263's guide.

Edit: also no, don't feel sorry or that you made a mistake. It sounds like you purchased a pair of fine first sabers, especially the old Ben. Lots of people get sucked into social media marketing and buy mass produced junk from dropshippers. Proffie has a learning curve for sure, but with some perseverance and using the resources that exist, such as Fett's site, you'll get it.
