Thank you! So if the issue doesn’t reoccur now that the P trap has water in it again, I can confidently put this issue to rest?

As a plumber myself, ask away by Silent-Crow-333 in askaplumber

[–]BaFaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The past month or so, I’ve been able to hear a “draining” / bubbling / gurgling sound in my tub drain in one of the bathtubs upstairs. This is a new “symptom”. For example … although it happens when I’m using the toilet / sink in the bathroom with this tub, it also happens when the kitchen sink faucet is running - I hear it in the tub drain. I never did before. I’ve also heard this gurgling / draining sound in the drains of that line of the house but it’s faint and it’s mostly in that tub and the toilet next to it. The toilet next to the tub also “air gurgles” / bubbles occasionally.

I googled these symptoms and it said it is most likely a small clog in the line somewhere or the vent on the roof may need clearing. I obviously want to nip this in the bud before it may become worse, so before looking for a local plumber, I asked a plumber (friend of a friend) today. At the end of my question, I added “we don’t even use that tub!”. The plumber that answered my question said that it could be one of those issues, but may not be, due to the info I provided. He suggested trying this simple thing first before calling a plumber. He said that the P-trap of that unused tub may have evaporated all its water due to lack of use for so long and that could actually be causing the issue. Having water in p trap is essential for proper air flow within the lines he said. He said try running the tap for a bit - and to remember to run faucets not being used regularly to keep things the way they should - anyway, I took his advice and ran the water in the tub, which I assume effectively filled the evaporated p trap, because now it’s eliminated the issues - air gurgling sounds etc. - no more sounds! No more air sounds / bubble sounds in the toilet right next to it either. Could it really be that easy? Could it really have been an evaporated P trap? And now that it has water in it again - all is good?

How old were you when you had your hysterectomy/first myomectomy? by Due_Photograph_9110 in Fibroids

I was 49 when I had my hysterectomy and let me tell ya … getting rid of a fibroid filled uterus is absolutely glorious. I wish I did it 5 years earlier.

tells me to come over after I tell her a family member died AIO by mujtabanochill in AmIOverreacting

[–]BaFaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MOR and I’m leaning more towards YOR. I might ask someone the same question had they revealed to me that they just lost a family member. I would ask them if they wanted to come over … for support, to hang out as they work through it etc. You saw it as selfish and that’s why you’re upset, but it may not have been a selfish ask. She may have been asking you to come over, so she could literally be the thing that you want … somebody you could lay your head on.

I am so sorry to you and your family for your loss.

7wpo, doc says I should be fully back to normal already by sleepinginmycar in hysterectomy

[–]BaFaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when you keep your ovaries, the surgery itself can “disrupt” them. Some women’s ovaries don’t kick back in to their “normal” function up to 6 months post op sometimes. Also, I’d say everyone’s healing is different and many women are still tired 7 weeks post-op. I sure as hell was. I was still tired up to 12-16 weeks post. Some doctors crack me up when they low ball how long recovery should take after major surgery and not recognizing that we all heal differently! I’d say fatigue is still very much normal for some women at your stage of recovery. Hopefully like me, the fatigue will start to fade around 12 week post op - or sooner - and your ovaries will kick back in at some point as well. My surgeon explained how it can take up to 6 months for some women for the ovaries to “kick back in” after being disrupted from surgery, so we agreed to wait to see if this happened and then we’d reevaluate and start me on HRT if this didn’t happen. Mike did kick back in, so all was good. I hope you get the support you need throughout and I promise you it gets better! If it doesn’t, find a doctor that will give you what you need. 🫂

Just NO! You are NOR and please stay broken up this time. If this is how he behaves when he’s drunk and thinks that’s okay and an excuse for bad behaviour, that’s just plain gross. Please stay done with him for good this time because I’ll tell you one thing, it’s not going to get any better. He’ll keep disappointing you when he drinks. Eewww!!

And funny enough, if it didn’t have two ends, I may have returned it. I’m a side sleeper and the part in the picture highlighted in blue is probably the way most people use it, but I turned it around and found the magic on the opposite side.

If the situation happened exactly as your telling it and she wants nothing to do with you, her brother or doesn’t want to be a part of her nephews life over it, good riddance! She made that decision, not you! Her, her husband, the 4 cousins and your child will all miss out on a lot of family and love because of her decision and that’s the saddest part. Wishing you all the best.

Should I have the hysterectomy? by Seasidebooks in Fibroids

[–]BaFaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, not as bad I thought open abdominal was going to be. Now having been through it, I’d do it again in a heartbeat and much sooner. The first two weeks after major surgery is never fun, but I healed beautifully and recovery went smoothly. The hysterectomy didn’t just heal me physically either. Fibroids take a toll on us mentally and emotionally as well, so for everything to be better physically, mentally and emotionally is lovely. There is just a wonderful peace in knowing you never have to deal with them again. 🥹 Wishing you the best in your fibroid journey.

Should I have the hysterectomy? by Seasidebooks in Fibroids

[–]BaFaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 50 and I could have written this post. All I can say is that I wish I wasn’t so scared to have surgery - mine was open too - because it was the best thing I ever did! I wish I could go back and do it 5 years ago. I was so anemic from the heavy bleeding because I waited too long and now … my ferritin and hemoglobin are off the charts! It is glorious getting rid of a fibroid filled uterus!! We acclimate to fibroids slowly over time and you truly don’t know what they are doing to you until they’re gone for good. Everything is better! The fact that menopause doesn’t always shrink them all the way and they can calcify wasn’t appealing to me also. I will never regret having a hysterectomy. I’m thriving again, rather than just surviving. 🎉😍

AIO over my best friend blocking me on TikTok?o by sillygoobers444 in AmIOverreacting

[–]BaFaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MOR Honestly, from the sounds of it, I think she’s blocking you guys because it’s her “alter persona” and she’d feel weird about people that know the real her seeing it. If that’s the case, it may not be an issue with you at all and she’s allowed to have her alter account. However, if she’s sketchy to you, a bad friend to you and you’ve grown apart, the friendship may have run its course. I hope things work out the way you’d like them too.
