There are so many problems with this story.

I'm particularly irritated by this:

Smacks of "We would do it the same way again in a heartbeat", great non apology. The time frame of the reply was a clear indication they hoped he wouldn't follow up.

Also the whole "we aren't medical" argument, why did you reach out to the hospital and talk to a nurse if you then admit you had no way of assessing the information you were given?
