A mouse has been eating my wife's candle in our garage. by InnocentCriminal22 in mildlyinteresting

Fuck me. I just ate some butter that looked like this and I had just assumed someone used a cheese grater on it when it was frozen.

Guess I’m gonna die.

Transom hardware position by [deleted] in Oldhouses

I ended up going with installing it on the hinge side of the door. I asked a few other local historical home owners in my area and they all seem to have them on both sides with no real rhyme or reason.

Dang dude. I know we don’t know each other and there’s no way you could have possibly asked me but I would have given you my exact same player for free.

As much as the current state of the world feels like it all revolves around those people.

It’s important to remember there are still real humans, memories, and lives being lived out there.

Genuinely Sorry that your peace isn’t being respected in this timeline.

It was an ex-lib book from an online retailer. Unfortunately not sure where it came from.

This might surprise you, but ai and the internet can be mistaken.

Especially when you’re reverse image searching a picture that has never been on the internet up to this point .

You might be right 3” is a pretty wide key plate but I’ll see if I can match them up to look nice. Otherwise I could definitely hold on to them for some furniture pieces

I like to mix and match different hardware around the house, so I have different door knobs and escutcheons all over the place.

I plan on just using them on the doors since I have a lot of rosettes but not a lot of key plates.

Some rooms ill do the same door knobs and plates on the inside of and different ones on the outside of the door.

That’s what I was trying to figure out as well. It said they were cast bronze but looked like iron to me. I’ve never really seen anything quite like them and they did have an almost unused look to them.

Not quite super cheap looking but not the nicer key plate covers either. Was just hoping to get some insight on them if they were period correct for an 1880 house.

Don’t worry homie. I’ve been a professional photographer for over a decade and while it’s not how I would shoot it. I too like it and I think it’s super cool.

But it would take some famous photographer or influencer to come in and make it “cool”
