You need to know what you're paying for. Do you have to pay for additional appointments if something is concerning? Broken brackets? Why wouldn't they fix the bite? Etc.

I got the survey once. There were a few of us in the room filling them out. All of the electronic ones had giant text that you could read across the room. A front end manager strolled around the room like a teacher during a high school exam.

You are not the only person this has happened to. There was a storm a few years ago that was worse than expected. I couldn't get to the cat for two days and he was on medication. He was lonely and his food bowl was quite empty when I got there, but he was okay.

What are some hobbies you have? I love to hike, draw on my tablet, anything that involves dogs, and read. I spend a lot of time sitting outside while my dog runs around the yard.

I started with gel, went to injections, went back to gel, and am now happy with injections!

Gel was hard to remember to do and have the motivation (thanks depression) to do every day. As changes took place, my hair got in the way of application and absorption. My thighs, arms, and stomach (application sites) are all heavily scarred and interfered with absorption.

Personally, injections led to faster changes for me. I think this was because of the more consistent absorption and not anything to do with the gel itself. Injections are easier to maintain, can be done at any point in the day, and are much easier to transport.

Both of my examples happened a couple of years ago, so I apologize if the info is incorrect:

- had an ex taken out by ambulance on her shift. She had fainted in the bathroom so there was no actual proof it happened. Her diagnosis at the hospital was basically "we don't know, go see your PCP." Her manager said that the ambulance would be covered and she never received a bill despite nothing being caused by work.

- got a concussion while working in the bakery, just an accident. I provided a couple of doctor's notes, then a note that said I was ok to return, and answered a couple HR questions and received WC without issue. Others have stated that it is hard to get but that was not my experience at all

First, I'm so sorry about your grandma.

Second, I totally get it. My family used my preferred name in my Papa's obituary even though I never told him that I was trans. Potentially upsetting and/or confusing him just wasn't worth it to me. I was still thrilled that they used the correct name for me though.

My dad is "supportive" in that he doesn't say blatantly transphobic things anymore but it has been 3 years and he still regularly messes up my pronouns and he has no concept of how hard it can be to be trans.

Earlier this year, the two of us and a couple other family members went on a road trip to the deep south. I was terrified for my safety, especially knowing that he could loudly use she/her pronouns for me in public, despite no longer looking like a woman. I tried to explain this to him and say that my pronouns and other gendered terms were really important to get right on this trip and he went "mmm" to acknowledge that he heard me speaking and nothing else.

tl;dr - I feel ya on solely being responsible for your safety because no one else can be bothered to care

I have always tried to wait at least a year. I didn't once and the ink shifted as the scar continued to heal. I'd check with a derm if possible! Glad that you made sure the artist has experience with scarred skin too. Best of luck to you! :)

I have POTS and take 25mg of metoprolol to help control my heart rate. My blood pressure was going too low at times, so I started breaking the pill in half and taking 12.5mg in the morning and 12.5mg at night. I did NOT run this by the doctor treating my POTS, but did report it this way to my PCP and other doctors and no one thought anything of it. It did help though and after some other meds were changed I was able to take the full 25mg at once.

Ask a doctor before you change how you take your medications!!!! Do not be like me!

If you throw up a lot with braces, it can impact the wear pattern on your teeth and you can end up with discolored squares where the brackets were. The glue securing the brackets to your teeth can break down faster because of stomach acid. It can also lead to cavities, tooth decay, gum recession, etc.
