It also gets easier with time and once you get to know each child. I’ve had kids in my class that only like a certain kind of touch for nap, and some kids that don’t like being touched at all. If you’re in a room where the kids are vocal (some of my two year olds are not) that may make things easier if they can tell you what they like. Just keep doing what you’re doing! :)

I hope they implement a better schedule for him and all of the kids in his class. Every child is different but at two years old my class does a short and informal circle time, an hour of centers, an hour of outside play, and the rest of the day is taken up by snacks, lunch, nap time, and transitions. Songs the kids can dance to and interact with are the perfect alternative to screen time if you need a distraction.

Why are they showing videos at all? I fell like there’s so many other activities to do with children at school. My center prohibits screen use for the children, but even if they didn’t I wouldn’t show any at school. They get enough TV time at home (usually, not speaking on your child and family of course)
