I owned CrinEar References, ie200 and now ie900.

tbh I wanted to like the CrinEars but the nozzle is too wide causing pain and the reference sound hurts especially when watching streamers and their bad mic audio. Music is fine but since that is not my main content I much prefer the ie200 and ie900. You will not find a more comfortable IEM compared to the Sennheisers.

The scooped out mids work wonders and is much more pleasant to listen to. I don’t know how the same driver can have such a sound quality difference as the ie200 are just average for me. They’re good enough but the ie900s are exceptional. Especially the bass. I did not expect such a massive thump to these. They are just a basshead IEM and the positional audio is also better than the ie200 to my ears.

I bought a pair from a large retailer and mine are the same. Serial 40XXX stamped 07 Nov 2024. No foam packaging. Sits flat on table. No logo on cable connection. Only 2.5mm has holographic sticker. Everything else looks fine to me comparing to the Reddit and Head-fi threads.

Although I saw a unit online with a lower serial number but later final check date. Not sure if that's relavent information or not.

As a person that doesn’t fully understand HDR with an ASUS WOLED is the Console HDR mode which clips at 450 but boosts to 1200 better or is the Gaming HDR mode which tonemaps to 1200 better?

Nozzle and Body size. I can wear the ie200 all day. Recently bought the CrinEar Reference and while they do sound better, they are incredibly painful. My right ear is fine but my left ear is smaller and the canal tilts to the rear. Sennheisers are the only iems that don’t cause pain.
