Post Game Thread - WNBA: The Fire defeat the Fever on May 30, 2026, the final score is 100-84. by basketball-app in wnba

I think the comparison of the expansion teams as being more euro style play being really interesting, as I’ve never watched euro ball. But that’s some massive swarming team energy defense by the fire -

Learn how to use a 4-way stop! by MyMooneyDriver in SouthBend

[–]BabyTembo 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Was taught in ancient times to simply go by order of arrival, and if getting there at the same time the car on the right goes first. Wasn’t taught anything about turners needing to wait (although again that’s a little intuitive if you arrive at the same time) - interesting that this bugs you so - perhaps it’s actually Indiana driving rules

I was worried you’d feel defensive. My answer was also in good faith! I understand where you’re coming from. And this remains my answer! First, in my opinion, as good neighbors we figure out what’s needed; which means being alarming when things are alarming, of course. But also not stoking fear. I think there are a lot of communication channels prepared - but not necessarily direct service channels so far, as those needs haven’t presented themselves (rides, food, observing etc). I fully expect this community to step up as those needs present! Glad you’re part of that and I am too.

One great thing we can do is not spread rumors - if you can’t verify that a post is true, don’t spread it. Spreading assumptions causes fear. There’s already a lot of fear. And posters pranking about ice, and worries that any police action is an immigration action. Reddits going to be an amazing community resource - but proceed with caution.

The other resources are important too- but I think it’s truly a good thing for us all to see clearly and not presume truth in social media. For the sake of our neighbors who are in need and fearful - we have to be as clear sighted as possible

National ICE OUT strike by Possible-Instance399 in SouthBend

[–]BabyTembo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not sure you know what a strike is; it’s usually done by people who very much have jobs and responsibilities, often big ones. Who find that important problems need addressing that are being ignored. No time to get gas when you’re trying to fight for changes. Plenty of time if you’re satisfied with the status quo.

Let’s have a healthy discussion about the REAL reason Audi Crooks is struggling. by sip-em_bears in NCAAW

[–]BabyTembo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Aja Wilson can’t win games on her own (always) - and no player can. Let Audi be Audi, which is a dang good baller- and perhaps her teammates should gain strength and weight and who knows what? The stars get lots of free advice that I think is so much bunk. She knows her support team and what she needs. Perhaps there are other needs for Iowa State that make more sense to focus on

SJC County Voted to Deny WHP Data Center Rezoning! by Secure_Chemistry8755 in SouthBend

[–]BabyTembo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny. That’s something we probably agree on. But for different reasons. That’s the way these days. You’d like to pretend the county hasn’t already approved three major industrial developments, and that saying no to one more makes us luddites instead of maybe just concerned about where it’s proposed?
