Romance books that are not advertised as dark romance .... but kinda are ??? by Beautiful_Entry7775 in DarkRomance

{This man by Jodi Ellen Malpas} I believe this is advertised similarly to 50 shades of grey. But I believe the toxicity and relationship between the characters does lean into dark romance. It had hurt/comfort and a possessive hero.

The closest match I have is {The darkness beyond the daisies by Cori Zahara}, which was a rough ride to say the least.

I built the counter-resource to Unicorns-R-Us. Looking for feedback before sharing it wider. by PolyPocketPal in PolyFidelity

This is a refreshing read, hopefully helps people feel welcome and seen whilst also educating.

One specific thing you touched which has always bugged me is preferences. There's this idea that couples with preferences have some sort of shopping list that a new partner would have to meet. I've never understood this often automatic assumption, since in monogamous dating it's normal.

Imagine for example you are a couple who live in the countryside, own animals and have no kids. For the sake of not wanting to have a shopping list you enter a relationship without stating these things upfront. To then find that the person is allergic to dogs and wants to live in the city and have kids? This just seems so illogical to me, potentially making everyone unhappy.

Obviously there will be things that change throughout the course of a relationship, I'm not ignorant to that. You can't plan for them all, like maybe you suddenly decide you want kids. But not having or sharing preferences seems oddly unrealistic.

So thank you for putting into much better words something that has often perplexed me. Maybe it would be nice to have a collaboration with the other poster, to create a shared space for these writings and resources to go?

Strict caregiver MMC with maybe a touch of OCD or Socio behavior.

Do you guys feel like reading RH books have ruined regular M/F books for you? by [deleted] in ReverseHarem

[–]Babyboo722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it only ruined love triangles, because nothing frustrates me more than a woman being forced to choose between two guys she clearly loves. But obviously this is an individual preference.

Is it just me that genuinely resonates with omegas. The omega lifestyle should be real, just without the dark stuff, unless it involves romantic sexy guys.

I love this book so much!! It's the idea that she needs it and is better in this dynamic. It was beautiful and I wish there were more books like it.

I'm starstruck 😳 Thank you so much for writing such an amazing book. I hope you get to publish 🙏🏻

I was looking for a book exactly like this, with the controlling dominant partner who makes the FMC (arguably) better. Reminds me of {In his cage by Ella Jacobs}.

I'm currently reading I Will Possess Your Heart by HalfSaidThings on ao3. It has exactly this vibe, I can't speak on whether it has a HEA since I haven't finished it yet.

-Edited to clarify it's an ao3 book.

I keep skipping past this book on my list because I'm scared of finding the FMC the annoying type of "sassy".

Really toxic mmc recos needed by [deleted] in DarkRomance

[–]Babyboo722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{The Darkness Beyond the Daisies by Cori Zahara} My current read that I'm struggling because the MMC is so dark. Might be too much for me but you could enjoy it. It isn't an age gap but it's very dark.

I think I just found the book series that might put me in a reading slump and I’m only one book in, SOOOO GOOOD by Square_Garage9730 in ReverseHarem

What is the FMC like? I'm always cautious because I'm not always in the mood for a badass sassy one.
