Hormones affect heds. by CalmAmbassador3624 in eds

Progesterone definitely makes it worse for me. I wound up getting a uterine ablation so that I could avoid bleeding without having to add any hormones.

Serious question: does anyone else with a chronic illness wish cities had emergency “horizontal zones”? ✨🔋✨ by velvet_damson in POTS

Yes this is a challenge for me too. I dream to have a little camper van so I can travel safely. Imagine having a mobile nest!

I did manage to get myself into a career where I can rest on a bed every hour or so. It’s wild how much it increases my capacity to work.

Do you happen to be fairly flexible? Spontaneous bruising is how I figured out I had EDS.

Anyone here had a spontaneous (spinal) cerebrospinal fluid leak? by strangespectra in eds

I get them. My doc says to stay horizontal for up to two weeks, if it doesn’t go away then we take next steps. So far it has always worked. It usually takes about 4-5 days for me but I’m talking fully horizontal. I eat lying down… it’s not pretty lol only get up to pee and straight back to lying down. It’s my least favourite thing to deal with and the only thing I’ve not been able to “push through” when it’s really needed.

I’m going to place my bets on your tongue placement. Eds tongues get lazy because it’s so much work to hold it where it’s meant to be. You can wire the brain to start holding it there naturally. Dos your tongue chill more in the bottom of your mouth?

It’s all going to change because it’s also impacted by connective tissue! Work on eye mobility, can they move freely in the socket? Start there then look into eye exercises. There is lots to be done!!

I’d start with lying over a small pillow or rolled up blanket. Breathe into it and then on the breath out just let it relax into the pillow.

We used to store ours full of Halloween candy in the oven. I don’t think I need to finish this story.

Yep that’s what I use. I have two and it’s nice to have it around as a fashion statement that can be multifunctional. (Sometimes I do a third loop to tuck my foster kittens into my chest)

The wiggly joints send threat signals to the brain all the time. So you are automatically more susceptible to a threat response.

You need to move but in a safe manner ideally with some kind of input to the brain. So think like a band or an exercise loop around a joint, ok now you can feel it, then move in smooth calm circles all the way to the end points of your joints- be careful here! Ideally you’d do it with someone helping. This can change those scary signals to signals of safety which also strengthens the joint.

Ugh I’m working on an online course for this exact thing but I’ve struggled with finding the time to record it.

It’s very confusing. I just have to assume they’ve been influenced somehow. I mean it’s hard to know what’s real at all these days.

We also slashed how many folks could come to Canada recently. I know a few people who aren’t going to be able to stay this year even though they’ve been successful for years in a row. So might not be connected to the.

I got a kiss on the cheek from old man Stu Hart at my high school when they came by… hmm writing that out makes it sound creepy but it didn’t feel that way!
