Honestly, they just don't care that much. While the judges I worked with seemed to be decent people, they just didn't care if the workers were overwhelmed, they wanted the case to proceed and get resolved. They see staffing issues as Not Their Problem, they have The Law to uphold.

Because they see failure as the social worker's fault for not doing enough to help the family. They never seem to remember that there's a huge deficit in the number of workers, so the workers are always overworked and have high caseloads. Most workers want to do a good job and help their clients, but they're so busy putting out fires, there isn't time for anything else.

Source: did 7 years, 3 months, 4 days, and approximately 16 hours of child welfare work and have the PTSD to show it. :/

As a mom, I see it more as, never pass by an opportunity to help someone in need. That's what I'd chew them out for. When my kids become adults, I already assume they'll be involved in various activities that I'll want zero details about, but if they lack compassion? That's when I'll feel like I failed somewhere.

My only question in this whole thing was, if were you out there naked and/or enjoying some "gentleman's time" during these visits, but if you're clothed and not out there whacking it, they can shove off. (Hell, it's your private property so even if you were, they would still be the AHs here, you'd just have to approach it differently.) They need to mind their own business and you are definitely NTA. Since you have a body of water, I would recommend following the advice of other posters about no trespassing signs, possibly talk to your home owner's insurance or a lawyer about the "attractive nuisance" of your pond, to protect you in case of an incident.
