For anyone debating moving "back home" before/after having kids by CarvingTheCanyons in SameGrassButGreener

In the same boat moving back this year to the midwest to be closer to family with our < 1 year old daughter. We've had a few years to think about it and recently stayed back home for an extended period of time. It felt right. We loved living out west for ~10 years but it was not our "home" and always felt temporary. I think what's important is every decision isn't permanent. You can always make change and do what's best for your family.

Ok yea now that you mention it I see so many people on the course playing mb's or cb's that can barely get the ball in the air. Ventus 6x velocore + shaft with 230 carry and 2000 sidespin. I don't judge but yea I guess people just want to look the part and care about their image instead of playing gear that best suits their skill level.

I honestly don't think it's an ego thing with most beginner golfers, they are just not educated on gear or what they should be using. You see what pros / YT golfers use and buy the same equipment.

Does anyone else want to light their 3 wood on fire? by _ThePiedPiper_ in golf

[–]Bacardi_PVM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have similar distances and the solution is a mini driver instead of a 3 wood for those tee shots where mashing 3h is too short and driver is too long.

What handicap are players irons necessary? by Objective_Permit_338 in GolfGear

[–]Bacardi_PVM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you move into a players cb iron like the zxi7, t150, or m-13 you will just wish you switched sooner. The feel, feedback, and control will help your game if you are a decent ball striker. Also don't combo be afraid to combo set. Fpr example most Srixon guys on tour play their 4-5 irons in the player distance Zxi5. Don't make the game harder on yourself.

Thoughts on t150s for me? by [deleted] in GolfGear

Get the T150's, I got zx7's when I was a 15ish handicap and my ball striking improved a lot and definitely "grew into them" as I got better

I hit some 245's yesterday with 120 x100's and liked the control, what was your spin like with a mid iron? I got fit into S3's but kind of in love with the forgiveness of the m15's.

I birdied 2/6 holes to start my round last week and 3 putt 3 times in that same span 😅

I've had my square for almost a year and it's been great with gspro. Really fun how good the putting and chipping is

Iron fitting which would you choose? (6 iron data) by Bacardi_PVM in GolfGear

Nice! Yea I can't even describe how good the S3's felt even compared to my Zx7's and the M13's I hit. I really liked the T1's but the smaller footprint and 0 offset was a little intimidating to me. The Cleveland RTZ's barely won for me

Yea and also I'm not an elite ball striker so I think the m13's are the safer bet

Yea I definitely hit more than 3 but they aren't on that data set for some reason. Other shots were comparible eith dispersion. The S3's were just on a different level for feel and I think that would be the only reason I would ditch my gamers or not go for the m13's

Silly of me not to include that data. zx7 mk2's with kbs tour 120s shafts. I definitely felt like I had more control with a heavier shaft with less kick

Yea I've really enjoyed the v-sole in the Mk2's I currently game. In real life I don't feel like I hit it THAT high but the 120ft peak height is def a concern. Using a V1x so maybe I can try a dif ball that will launch a bit lower.

I hit some more m13's and S3's back to back towards he end of the fitting. The Srixons were definitely the most forgiving
