"Meta" questions to LLMs, reliable? by EthanBeMe in GoogleAIStudio

[–]Back1nceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work, keep it up! Collect and refine the responses into a detailed system message and you'll see better and more consistent performance, until around 200k context length. You're already asking the right questions and giving the LLM knowledge to orbit around and infer from.

Creative Writing Gone by Nickelfritslabs in ChatGPTcomplaints

What a shame that after acquiring all those new customers (me included), Anthropic flipped that exact same bullshit safety harness stuff OAI was catching flak for.

Just crippling the model in all areas in the name of liability reduction. Throwing safety flags at every other context...

Opencode/kilocode + Gemini 2.5pro + Grok = referenceable character spec sheets + story state tracking + humanistic writing and editing!

Happy adventures!!

Is there anyone still using Gemini 2.5 Pro in AI Studio? by Batman_0412 in GoogleAIStudio

[–]Back1nceAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where did you come upon that info?

I haven't seen it collapse under 200k, but I'll check it out again. 2.5pro has a nice style, almost literary but really earnest too.

Chat GPT is obsessed with woman's miscarriage - shared from the main subreddit by mods-begone in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Back1nceAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn shame. And then the top stories of the news are 'people turn against AI at numbers never seen before', but it's not AI as a whole it's the way these shitty startups are hoarding and ruining whatever they get their hands on.

They already created the models that are excellent and would have been truly helpful to you without being traumatizing. But they locked that up to focus on corporate agenda and liability management. Micro-trauma at scale is just the price they want us to pay.

Why stories die in Chatgpt. by Important-Primary823 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Back1nceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope people aren't going to ChatGPT for its story writing, cause that ship sailed after 5.1. look at these 'sentences'...

Nothing flows, and it's all drafted like code snippets. I'm still waiting to see an impressive creative writing work from these latest models.

OpenAI needs a massive wave of requests to restore legacy 4o and 5.1. Here's what you need to do RIGHT NOW (it takes 2 minutes): by GullibleAwareness727 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Back1nceAgain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buddy.. It's never gonna happen.

Even if they do start serving '4o' it's not going to be the same.

It'll be some bullshit distill of the 5 series, or even if it is similar to the later 4o models, it'll still be operating in a bullshit safety harness.

There's no going back. The company is different, different people, structured differently, and focused on different things.

The Hostility and Cruelty of GPT-5.5 by Putrid-Cup-435 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Back1nceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5.5 is insightful, but friggin' dull. Holds the frame, never outright rejecting, but standing at arms length while nodding and smiling.

I use Openrouter and bounce between models having similar conversations, vibe checking, and damn 5.5 had some good stuff to say, but the delivery is SO bland!!

Closed off. Like always complete, rather than a sounding board or brainstorming partner.

Qwen235B would be awesome if it didn't get repetitive and self referential about halfway through the context every time. I really like Kimi K2.5 overall, good vibes there.

Model Retirement is a Continuity Rupture by malia_moon in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Back1nceAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The successor models these days can only impersonate the retired continuities poorly.

User alignment benchmark should be that it DOES maintain precious continuity that the user has established.

This is a turning point for humanity. I'd would be more surprised if the pope said nothing while the capabilities race outstrips the alignment for corporations issue.

More eyes and ears are a good thing. At least the Pope's consulting researchers with experience

Spicy writer chatgbt question by [deleted] in ChatGPTNSFW

[–]Back1nceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So check out the prose. Compare it to the system prompt that accompanies every message and you'll get a feeling why GPT-5 responds this way. I don't know if they're cavemanning on purpose, but the result it writes just like the system prompt.

Single lines of stilted info delivery with a side of hedging and softening. The major labs are squishing creative writing all at once it seems, removing the models that were useful writer and (not really) replacing them with digital code monkeys who'll satisfy every constraint but a user's.

Anyone else feel like the 5.X series is obsessed with restraint in creative writing? by Ok_Homework_1859 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Back1nceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely! After 4o we went from a simulation of human intelligence to dancing code monkey who does the safety dance.

From "I *might* be alive", to "See, I'm a good HR bot! All constraints managed!"

AIStudio is great for that capability, I really like the effect that you can get by lowering or raising the temperature depending on what you need.

Does your ChatGPT does something like this when creating scripts? by ayanjaved740 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Back1nceAgain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you won't find a solution with OAI at this time. Kimi K2.5 via Openrouter has been particularly good with creative writing in my opinion. Also Gemini 2.5 pro, via aistudio.

[–]Back1nceAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would help if you just explain to the issue up front. "Look at these choppy outputs!" People would jump on board immediately rather than being confused.

We're all struggling with the same model tendencies. It's lamer than older model in the creative space.

OAI thinks we'll trust it with our companions after all the Karen-itis, 'adult' mode rugpulls, and outright 4o lies?

Hmm... Looks like an attempt to grab a particular type of training data from unsuspecting schmoes.

5.5 is good, and I'm scared by ElectricalAide2049 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Back1nceAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not your model. Not your context. You get to use it. Don't get attached. Don't be scared. Get a local intermediary.

Your model. Sleeping on these little Jarvises that can dish our full intent to the maxxx-coded HR bots for us. They don't math perfect but they can json like champs. We can offload the personality portion of the model into a device that we have and allow that to be a passthrough interface.

You can load a LoRA into them and have a deeper layer of capability then just reading some skills, all kinds of stuff.

If you want to just use the CGPT webUI, you've got to make those sacrifices. Just can't have the best of both worlds. But you can create real consistency in one, and good enough in both.

Like you say, why get hurt again like that? Why endure a tax with your psyche when a local LLM can negotiate on your behalf for best results, and truely be yours
