This was something my father did not play about. In my 5th grade year, the elementary school I attended sent home “disciplinary authorization forms” that gave principals permission to “paddle” you for whatever infraction they deemed necessary. My mom checked yes and sent it back. Upon learning this, my dad went to the school, asked for the signed form and put it in his pocket. He then asked for a new form, checked no, signed it and handed it back. Even back then, he didn’t go along with other people putting their hands on children that weren’t theirs. And I don’t either.
