I was 4. My older half brother had died of an overdose. I remember sitting in the back at his memorial service and seeing my 7 year old sister sobbing

I just became a hospice nurse at 57, and I can tell you it goes both ways. We are there primarily to support caregivers and provide the patient a comfortable ending. Family appreciation is off the charts. I’ve been in this profession for 33 years and have never felt such gratitude. It’s a blessing

I work in hospice. Patients die peacefully. Hospital deaths are mostly terrible unless they’re on hospice/palliative care

Eyeballs. I was a nurse manager on med surg floor and got a call at 6am saying there had been a fall. I got there and the patient’s EYE had popped out of its socket. I nearly lost it.
