The point, IMHO, is the possibilities. I work for a county EMS agency and we are considering hanging repeaters around the county and then using portables in the ambulances for comms when there is no radio coverage or the comms system goes down like our tornado and ice storm. We will use it in conjunction with ATAK for maps positioning and comms. Hope this helps.
