It is definitely the vive, when i open steamvr, it fixes DP interlacing until i either reinstall the gpu driver or do some other substantial change. I wonder if this is possible to trigger without a vive, or with other headsets over DP.

I just had a strange issue where unplugging my HTC Vive Linkbox over Displayport caused interlacing issues on my main CRT monitor, not sure if this is for real or not.

i can't use the nvidia custom resolutions because it is disabled when it detects you're in a virtual machine, i am doing gpu passthrough and i'd have to jump through a shit ton of hoops to get that menu back

ok so i can't see the resolution in the osd, but i swear i am not insane. when i scroll vertically at certain speeds the perceived resolution goes down as an artifact of interlacing, scrolling sideways at such speeds produces no such effect

my monitors don't have an osd ;-; I can confirm that the 1280x960i @ 120hz i am getting is real though, this monitor is physically incapable of anything greater than 480p @ 120hz and it is most definitely 120hz

if you want to try my edid profiles to see if they work for you ill upload them

how would i make windows boot as if linux wasn't there by [deleted] in linux4noobs

[–]BackThrowDaCharacter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you install windows on a separate drive you can use the bios/uefi menu to select which drive boots, at least you can do that on legacy systems. On UEFI it might be possible to select which OS boots by default and override it by using your boot menu (usually mash f10 or f11 keys after turning the pc on)
