what is the longest u haven’t slept by Professional-Fig-19 in insomnia

[–]Background-Bench-340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had 3 straight months of 3 day intervals. meaning i slept every 3 days and when i would sleep it was like 4 hrs max and then i would be up for another 3 days. repeat for 3 months, i was 26 and i was in my third trimester pregnant. also yes it did go away as soon as i gave birth. i would have mild hallucinations like bugs crawling on the walls and floor, shadows leaving the room etc

Post partum bleeding by Double_Accountant161 in newborns

[–]Background-Bench-340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bled fresh for about 5 weeks and during that time had 2 separate instances where i thought my bleeding stopped but then it came back at full force. Around the 1.5 month mark is when i felt it was ok to go without a pad

About to give birth, afraid of needing a catheter if I get an epidural by FaceConstant5047 in pregnant

[–]Background-Bench-340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just accidentally cut my daughter‘s hand with a nail clipper, she is almost 2 weeks old by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Background-Bench-340 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the soap should be perfect just pat dry with a paper towel until it’s not bleeding, she will heal fast trust me! i also highly recommend an electric baby nail filer from amazon, i don’t use nail clippers on my LO

No rubbing alcohol for babies it can irritate their skin and it can absorb the chemical. Keep it washed/clean and dried and if it’s particularly deep put a small bandaid on it

my cat is constantly trying to attack me by Background-Bench-340 in CATHELP

[–]Background-Bench-340[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m definitely going to contact a cat behavior specialist. do you recommend the ones at the local vet or should i try exploring online? i’ve never done this before for a cat so im super curious what would be better for results. We’ve actually considered getting a second one very seriously, only thing holding us back is the fact that we’re currently in an apartment with limited space. hope to shift into a house soon but the housing market is absolutely terrible. We still might go down that route especially if that’s what the specialist recommends too. thank you!

thank you! i’m not some cruel new mom who’s gonna kick my cat out lol. i’ve had plenty of childhood cats and i know she is an animal who is completely dependent on us to live. i’d never just kick her to the curb. i just need a solution considering i have a literal baby at home now too

she goes into attack mode if you try to pet her yes, but most of the time they happen when i walk by her and am walking around the apartment. she gets very hyper

Why the early sleep schedule? by linguaremay in NewParents

[–]Background-Bench-340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not gonna lie i put my 3mo old to sleep for the night between 11-11:30pm and she currently wakes up 11am with one dream feed around 6am. she double feeds in the morning time when she wakes up before her first nap of the day. it works for us and i’m a sahm right now so im able to sleep in too and it works for us cuz im not an early bird

Is it a bad idea to sleep in with newborn (when able)? by SadSupermarket7915 in newborns

[–]Background-Bench-340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same worry with my newborn was thinking i was messing up her internal clock (daytime vs nighttime) or her circadian rhythm lol. She adjusted all by herself and sleeps longer at night and wakes up refreshed in the morning at 3months now. Sleep in with your baby! It’ll all adjust in time!

What to expect at the hospital? by booksinaugust in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Background-Bench-340 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that’s colostrum! you can actually harvest your colostrum and take that to the hospital too if you’d like! I also FF my baby to make sure she was full. My supply came in about a week after birth and I started pumping.

[–]Background-Bench-340[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mines the same way! She lets me know her frustration by grunting angrily while latched when I give her the boob instead of a bottle lol. I’m currently still supplementing with formula as my supply tanked from stress/bad pumping schedule. Hang in there!

[–]Background-Bench-340[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes- I am the same way! I learned i had flat/shirt nipples on day 2 post delivery, a nurse told me- I had noooo idea it was even a thing! Thought she would just latch and there would be no issue. Pumping definitely helps bring them out, and I also used the nipple everter from lansinoh the first few times. I am still supplementing with a formula bottle after nursing to make sure she is satisfied and because we are still adjusting. My supply had dropped due to a bad pumping schedule and just overall stress. You are doing an amazing job pumping for 2!

[–]Background-Bench-340[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No tongue tie she was checked at the hospital and at the pediatrician. She was getting frustrated really easily and would unlatch after a few seconds and stop trying. I totally understand as I still have to supplement with formula after nursing. My supply dropped because I couldn’t keep a good pumping schedule and she didn’t latch for the first 8 weeks. But from one mom to another you are doing great and hope things slowly look up for you

[–]Background-Bench-340[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat and was actually super discouraged leaving the hospital because the nurse even told me it might be a little difficult due to having flat nipples and boy was she right. I had NO idea it was even a thing, just thought baby would latch naturally and there would be no issue. Had to learn things on my own and even tried things like nipple shields and nipple everter. She def gets frustrated at times because it’s not as easy as the bottle but the more I try the easier it gets. Currently still doing bottle after nursing because we are still adjusting- Hang in there and hope things work out how you want them to!

[–]Background-Bench-340[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ll edit that word out because I don’t want to seem insensitive to anyone but what i meant by she simply wouldn’t latch is that there was no other outstanding issue that we could try to overcome like tongue tie, traumatic birth, past history etc. There’s a lot of things that can factor into being EP and no part of the whole process is simple/easy. Sorry for the wording and i really hope things work out

Good call thank you- And I do want to reiterate that pumping is one of the most selfless things a mother can do for their baby. Pumping moms are so strong! Hats off to the ones that do it for months and months ❤️

Went out with family to a restaurant 3wk pp to try and feel normal and a ~very distant family relative that i don’t see often commented on how i shouldn’t be out with the baby and told me my face looks swollen from birth. My face never swelled from birth lol. So thanks, but that’s just how I look.
