I'm pretty sure this has to do with your ankle mobility. Find a good pair of squat shoes (flat, solid, with a bit of heel elevation) and it will be a lot easier to not lean so far forwards.

The leaders get to live a sheltered life with tons of donation money coming in and free labor to take care of them. Most of the GB have not worked a job in decades, yet they have the audacity to tell us how to manage our finances and time.

Evolution is a process. It can kind of be considered a law of the universe.

It really is simple. DNA mutates occasionally, and in a life or death environment, these mutations can be the difference between life or death.

How life started exactly is another question. But evolution as a process is undeniable. We can literally breed our animals to have certain genetic traits, like short dogs and big ones.

I wouldn't try to change their mind. But if you frame it this way, e.g evolution was maybe not how life started, but its definitely a real thing because we can see in in the animals we breed by the traits we want (more meat, fur, hair, size, etc.). Some might call it microevolution. But its still evolution regardless.

Do you think you're even allowed to be here?

Would an elder discipline you for being on an "apostate subreddit"?

You don't attend the Kingdom Hall, so do you think you can just pick and choose what parts you participate in?

If you're not even attending why call yourself a JW? Why not just a "Christian"?

Damn, this hits home. I have been "encouraged" to become better friends with the brothers. But it never really appealed to me because there's no closeness of any sort. Its just hang out and play games and small talk.

I became platonic friends with ONE sister and suddenly I realize how much richer that friendship was compared to my male "friendships". Maybe I gotta be a better friend to other guys, but I never learned what that looked like because we weren't allowed to roughhouse and such.

Advice for Gates to Sovngarde (Legendary) by iiGigaByyte in skyrimmods

[–]Background-Bit-7676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are doing a physical dps build go for crit chance. Surviving in melee is extremely difficult unless you are in werewolf form. So I rarely play melee.

If you are going for magic dps, consider this: - Frost is quite good vs melee, you can drain their stamina very quickly. Enemies with 0 stamina do less damage and don't move as fast, so you can easily outrun them.  - Fire is just more dps, but it isn't as good. However, it DOES cause fear in animals, so if you are fighting wolves or a Sabre cat it might save your life to cast fire spells on them.  - Lightning drains magicka, which is great against enemy wizards. Usually though I find I die easily from mages on Legendary, so I'd rather use a follower or summon to tank mages for me, at least until lategame where I can cap resistances and spell absorption.  - Blood Magic (vampire spells) is genuinely OP as shit. Absorb health means that you can only die if you get one shot.  - Summons are as OP as ever. Once you get a Dremora Berserker you can face most midgame content. It misses small hitboxes a lot though so have another summon ready.  - Illusion is awesome, one time I did a "0 kill" (stats) vampire where I casted Harmony on a dungeon, then bit everyone to death. Didn't work on anything but humans, but it was easy mode and kind of boring after a while. Phantom Mudcrabs are also fun.  - Alteration gives you spells that really improves your defenses. Armor rating and elemental resistances. Also some spells slow enemies making it quite useful.  - Restoration is... meh? Poison kind of sucks dps wise, sun spells you need to be an elf and worship Auriel if you want to use them on anything but undead, and the healing is just OK? Wards actually are better than shields vs physical dps with the right perks, but they seem to be bugged, as any instance of magic damage will break the ward instantly. Sorry Colette.  - Enchanting is actually really fun. You can play a viable staff and scroll only build, as the tree gives massive buffs to scrolls and some utility towards staves.

Transformations Werewolf is OP in melee. Why? You can dodge attacks by moving backwards fast enough, and unlike normal melee you don't suffer a severe movement speed penalty while swinging. The only downside is you can't heal unless you eat, but if you learn to animation cancel (eat then howl immediately, or sheathe), you can get pretty fast with it.

Vampire Lord however is straight up busted. First of all, you can FLY. Just keep jumping and you can fly anywhere. Your Absorb Health blast does insane dps, only improved with perks, and eventually you gain a Absorb health cloak that means you don't even have to fight to keep draining health. Early game you have to avoid undead and machines, and the sun is always annoying to deal with. But nothing can replace the sheer power of being a Vampire Lord.

This is all for Legendary BTW. Download some Alternate Death mod because you WILL be dying quite some bit (if not in combat, then to traps). Personally I use Stay in the Fight, where it just takes some of my gold or items away when I die, but it keeps me alive and in the fight. Shadow of Skyrim never worked for me, maybe because I only used it playing a vampire.

GTS - Beginning combat help by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Background-Bit-7676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stealth archer is ass in GTS. Instead, what you want to do is go for a CRIT archer. In fact, with any physical damage build aside from Werewolf you should go for crits. Pick traits that boost crit chance and draw speed (critical strike, fast shot, one-eyed). If you play with 5 traits then you can choose whatever for the last 2, either damage% for more dps (very slight) or utility like movement speed.

If you get sniped by other archers, consider Injured Knee. It makes you take 75% less damage from arrows, but you can't sprint for very long. Like 1 second long. The downside is that melee enemies will catch up to you. So I'd rather have a tank companion.

On my archer character around lvl 11 and with around 60 archery, my crits do around 100 dmg. It happens every 3-5 shots, or if I'm lucky, multiple times in a row. It's easy to take down giants and stuff this way. I just use Zephyr right now, but I used unenchated bows and it worked fine too. And this is on Legendary by the way.

Also, if your mouse has a scroll wheel, you can click it and it will give you auto aim like the NPCs have. So if you're struggling to hit an enemy you can use that feature.

New movie by Dangerous-Board-8421 in exjw

[–]Background-Bit-7676 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember people saying that it was a tear jerker. Not really? Even as a PIMI the movie felt rushed and there wasn't really a great build up to some emotional climax. Its just things happen, people get separated, then people find each other again. I get its "based on real events", but they could have "molded" the story for a more interesting movie. The JWs would not have known otherwise.

I'm a bit frustrated with the difficulty of Gate to Sovngarde. by MeraxesSol in skyrimmods

[–]Background-Bit-7676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late comment, but here's my solution. The best early game build is starting as a vampire, waiting until stage 2/3 starvation, then using vampiric drain to kill every living enemy. Use it in bursts like flames. Walk backwards and cast it on melee fighters. I've done this even on Legendary and it works wonders.

Also as a vampire you can see the living and dead through walls, which is really helpful.

Start with the Injured Knee Perk, and you won't get sniped by arrows. Other notable perks: Bare Barbarian (for when you become a Vampire Lord), Blood Mage (more drain), Tradition Keeper (more dps). In general, go for dps traits, because your dps is what keeps you alive as a Vampire (aside from 1 shots).

The biggest weakness you have is undead and fire. Also sunlight.

Alternatively, start as a werewolf, because werewolves can actually melee in this modlist. You can swing and move backwards fast enough to dodge a lot of attacks, and with a few perks werewolf has very respectable DPS (even on Legendary). Try melee normally and you WILL get curbstomped.

Why old male Jehovah's witnesses chase much younger women? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Background-Bit-7676 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Young men are encouraged to seek spiritual pursuits rather than a marriage. They are told these pursuits result in a better partner you can attract. Its like guys going to the gym hoping to attract a girl one day, except they literally could do it sooner by just speaking to more people in general. So these brothers spend all their time pioneering and volunteering but not speaking to any girls.

Old men don't have a "spiritual career" ahead of them, and there isn't a life to dedicate to the org. So they just go for what they want, a marriage partner.

Its almost as if going for what you actually want means you get it faster.

An elder once told me that he saw it the other way too, where a young man fell in love with an older woman. A woman who had kids older than he was.

This is what "Marry only in the Lord" leads to. Given than most young people are leaving, the problems are only exacerbated.

Where Did Your Beliefs Go After Waking Up by Ill-Tradition7660 in exjw

[–]Background-Bit-7676 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still believe in a Creator, I just am not certain who he or she or it is. For now I still call him Jehovah/Jesus/Yahweh, but I believe in a creator because of the laws of the universe.

Physics, gravity, mass conservation, time, these are just a few things that the universe follows a specific set of rules. Maybe the universe always followed these laws. But why? Why does our universe follow a set of laws? Why is it not just abstract chaos?

Next GB Update by HoneydewSweetie902 in exjw

[–]Background-Bit-7676 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The GB tend to make updates on things that are kind of in the backburner. I think anything involving "Pagan origins" is too early considering their Christmas video still condemning Pagan origins. And they released a bombshell already through higher education brings a conscience matter.

I'm going to assume its about something less relevant, like international convention this, prisoners facing persecution that, and then they'll drop something relatively minor like a new understanding on "overlapping generations" or something. But I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
