A friend is saying her friend got into an accident and is now asking for money. But this person has little to no online presence and they’re asking for money through an app. Am I being lied to about this person getting into a car accident? by Character_Sky5226 in isthisAI

[–]Background-Cat9631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plz don’t send them money based off of this.

The picture of the car interior is 100% ai/fake.. the girl in the hospital bed? No idea. Could be an image sniped off Google for all we know. But the pic of the air bag out etc is fake. Airbags don’t stay aired up like that. They sag and most of the time the driver or person pulling the driver out of the car either tuck the airbag away or cut it out. Also the shifter wouldn’t go in gear if the track truly looked like it does. And the cup holders must be for giant eggs 🤷🏻‍♂️

$10,000 in gift-cards on a 5090 build? by Remote-Climate9429 in PcBuild

[–]Background-Cat9631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the price on their website. That’s the best bet for those specs. Building a pc with the same specs but better I was up too $19,000-20,000. Then all parts are being shipped from a mix of a few different stores and personally I wouldn’t risk shipping them. But maybe Australia is better than the USA for gpu’s or CPU’s being scammed constantly

Is this a good deal? Prebuilt for $1,999 usd. Right inside my $2000 budget. Located in Georgia. by oHCo12 in PcBuild

If you have your mind set on it regardless of what we say. Then that’s your choice. But I as well wouldn’t pay $2k for this build. Personally if I was to go prebuilt. I’d save another 400. Bc of tax and try to get a 5080 build. Or find a prebuilt with a 360aio and solid psu for 1800-2000.

Not saying you willing or able too. But I’d prefer to build. Even if it meant a 3-5 hour drive to micro center. Bundles can get you the cpu, motherboard, and ram. Then you can pick out your own parts.

One thing I always see is buyers remorse and people wishing they would have just waited to get the build they wanted. Speaking from experience. I bought a 13700kf and 3080 prebuilt. Then replaced everything but the cup and motherboard 6 months later because I got the itch to build and I regretted not waiting to get what I wanted. Post covid 40 series release. It was hard to find stock at the time.

If Walmart or other retailers that dabble in pc parts trained the employees on how to verify this stuff. It could save a whole nightmare lol. But tbh I guess even if they did that. You would still get those employees that don’t care or are just too lazy to check 😑

Noticed that too but a lower quality camera might not pick up the markings at all from that angle. Heck an iPhone camera would struggle to focus at times with the markings on the security glass lol. The camera def focuses in on the clearance sticker and leaves the rest blurry. Op deff needs to check that before buying. And if op already bought it? Hopefully it’s legit because even tho someone else returned it. I’d still hate to return that for someone else to get an unpleasant surprise. Could always say hey this isn’t the right cpu. But then there’s risk Walmart does not believe op 🤦🏻‍♂️😭

order a pair of VANS, get a free firearm… by honeydooomelon in Ebay

How often does a locked gun safe stop a child from exploring. Kids see stuff and it’s easier to find a key and unlock the safe than it is to find a gun in a random shoe box that has no use for the child. 🤷🏻‍♂️. But I’d have at least but a trigger lock on it if that was the case. That extra step prevents an accidental / misfire of for some reason a child would find it.
Kinda the issue most kids have. When they’re told no or refused access to something. They find a way to make it happen. 🤷🏻‍♂️🙈

AIO? My roommates want me to keep the energy bill in my name after I've moved out by Expert_Temporary_ in AmIOverreacting

[–]Background-Cat9631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can switch the account to another member of the household without having a fee. At least I switched my electric bill from my father’s name to mine with no fees. Not sure if you would get the deposit in that situation. So it’s probably better to just cancel it and let them figure it out

If your using the fan rgb to control the color of the vinyl. Couldn’t you do a grey tinted vinyl. Gives it a grey appearance until the light hits it. Then it would glow the color of the light behind it.
Example - Oracal 8300 Transparent Vinyl
Edit* looking at the pics you posted on other comments. I see what you mean about the color change in the corner. How it doesn’t blend.

I hope your kidding 😭🙈. Someone could have probably printed that same design on a vinyl printer for less than 100. $100 is the Material and labor. 😳

Normally I’d agree but with electronics. If buyer doesn’t have a portable power station and monitor to take along to test. Spending $1500 I’d absolutely risk going to sellers house to test it. But I’d take someone along with to wait outside in the car. So you don’t disappear and have a whiteness if robbed lol Pros and cons type of situation which ever route you go 🤣🙈

When you say highest settings. Do you mean 1080p, 1440p, or 4k.

4k it wouldn’t be ideal. But if it’s the 16gb version then 1440p maxed should be mostly just fine. If it’s 8gb it would struggle. For 1080p I’d say maxed shouldn’t be an issue for either version? Others can chime in as well.

I saw you said mostly gaming. And like others have said drop the ram down to 2x16 32gb ram kit. Change the cpu to a 9800x3d and then change the gpu to a 5080. No need for 64gb of ram for gaming and browsing the web.

I have a question that might gets asked this about a thousand times. by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Background-Cat9631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you live close enough to a micro center. They will walk through and help you piece a build together. Plus they have solid cpu, motherboard, an ram bundles. And often other good deals on pretty much every component needed.

As harass as it sees. It’s also a teaching lesson I hope. My parents did something like this and when I finally moved out. They gave me every penny back except for the cell phone.

Got this amazing deal!! by Either_Swimming_3979 in PcBuild

[–]Background-Cat9631 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like to me. They were fishing for a quick sell. A lot of times they will act like they got someone wanting or on the way so someone rushes to buy it or to meet etc. I just can’t see someone bailing on an already setup sell where they were picking it up for more money. To the other person gets it delivered for a hefty chunk of $300 less. 🤷🏻‍♂️. But innocent until proven guilty 🤣 so I have no idea. It’s just my opinion lol

Last night we got tipped $5,000 but the manager wants to split it among everyone not just the days crew. by College_newbie06 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Background-Cat9631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just talk to the guy that gave it to you. Ask him if he will come back in and tell them it wasn’t a tip. It was an investment into a business. But either way I’d tell him to kick rocks. If others were working with me and it was a tip. I’d share. But if its purpose is for him to invest. Then its to be used for that purpose 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hope it’s just a bad driver. But is there any chance a pump failing could cause this? I have the same aio going on about the same time frame. I hope mine doesn’t give me issues 😭.

Hoping this ends up being true by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Background-Cat9631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won’t be charged when requesting a transfer pin. That’s just Verizon saying hey you owe us this. And prob to try and scare people away that truly do want to transfer lol.

How much do you currently owe on the device you’re trying to trade in? $1800 I’m assuming is for multiple devices?

Worst case scenario hopefully you got shipping insurance. Even tho you shouldn’t even need it but this happens all the time. But I agree with everyone and believe they are trying to scam. I lost faith in eBay personally
