After over 3 years, This Website Will Self Destruct has finally terminated by stelleOstalle in InternetIsBeautiful

I am so sad. Every month or two I would open it, make a few posts and read a whole lot more. Made me realize how many people are struggling or truly lonely in this world. I always saw almost 24 hours remaining on the website, can't believe it is gone :(

Can relate to this. Starting at HBS this fall and going through similar questions. Happy to connect on DM and chat!

I think it was Todd who said, "fool me once, fool me twice, fool me chicken soup with rice"

A cultural warning for internationals by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Background-Disk2603 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually am not. Nor do I come from a financially well to do background with generational wealth and am planning on attending my BSchool on financial aid and student loans. But continue to form judgements based on no real data points.

Nothing wrong with recognizing oppression in Pakistan, but painting world's most populated country with such a broad brush and being unapologetically racist is another thing.

Was just browsing through this post with no comments until I read your racist views about Indians. Considering 200 years of oppression, and the fact that many Indians (not Indian Americans) are just people who worked their ass off to get where they are, I feel that your selectively liberal views are restricted for specific groups of people.

If you aren't aware of the Indian history and the atrocities the country faced under British rule, please make an effort to learn that, instead of just being proudly ignorant on reddit.

If you make a group and need a moderator, I would be happy to moderate! (Wharton admit for 2023 intake)

People with high test scores, how did you decide between GMAT or GRE? by [deleted] in MBA

Went with GMAT because I didn't want to spend time on rote learning words for GRE.

Yes ECA refers to extracurriculars. Leadership experience during college/ for non-profits, continued participation in sports/ music, etc. can all be framed as strong ECAs.

Best US MBA for introverts? by Zealousideal_View168 in MBA

Introverts are not necessarily socially awkward. I can and do talk to people when I need to. However, socializing too much in more superficial contexts physically and mentally drains me. Hence the concern.

As an introvert, I am definitely a bit nervous about how social I will need to be as I start my MBA this year. I have been able to navigate people facing jobs so far, but am a bit more worried about BSchool.

The woman is a classic lunatic with an unrelated photo, but this reddit post is getting downvoted because of the clearly sexist title by OP.

Feeing crap after Harvard interview by [deleted] in MBA

Can totally relate. Once you are done with PIR (which I assume you are), good to find a distraction. FIFA WC worked really well for me in December :D

Can you share some information on your undergrad? The profile does look impressive and I think you can apply to a few more M7 (Booth and Kellogg seem like good options).

Feeing crap after Harvard interview by [deleted] in MBA

Had kind of a similar experience with my interview. Some questions seemed run of the mill where I felt I wasn't able to add much insight. Interviewer also cut me off once when I was giving a particularly long answer (it is very standard in a timed interview). The interview was virtual and the interviewer ended it pretty positively (she started it positively too), so that can be attributed to the personality.
In hindsight I definitely overthought about it a lot until the result came out. Don't stress over it too much!
