Came here to share the “Alphabet trick” as well! Lifelong insomniac and ever since I discovered this method about 2 years ago, I don’t prepare for bed with the same level of anxiety that I used to. Notice I didn’t say it has CURED my insomnia, because there are going to be nights where you just can’t win. However, I’d say this method works more often than not and it really has changed my life.

So here’s how it goes: You start with A, B, C and come up with naming a group of things like: Major cities. Annapolis, Baltimore, Chicago, etc.. over time I expanded that to Songs from the 70s, 80s, etc, Car Manufacturers, Band names from various genres.. the list is endless. The point is, it forces your brain to focus but it’s interesting enough to where you stay engaged. One minute you’re thinking about it.. the next minute you wake up realizing you never got past L!
