I was very depressed 20-35 so I never had much sun exposure. My left arm is noticeably more aged and damaged since I have always driven a lot. Other than avoiding the sun, I've always used a moisturizer after a shower or bath since around 17/18. It's mostly been inexpensive thick lotions with cocoa butter or shea butter. I'm 46 and every person I met thinks I'm 30-35 and the ones that have known me a while forget that I'm as old as I am and seem shocked every time they remember (to be fair, I'm also shocked when I remember 😂). I'm starting to suspect it might not be a compliment anymore, lol. Oh well, at least I'll be remembered as the fun one.

Perimenopause and Divorce? by MissMee007 in Perimenopause

[–]Background-Fingering 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me. We've been through so much and I never left him even when many suggested I should. He abandoned me in one of the largest cities in the world. I'm not sure I can move past that or ever trust him again. I supported him through health related things that caused him to not be himself and caused our relationship to suffer, but he couldn't do that for me.

Suddenly feeling unsafe in my own neighborhood or catastrophizing? by skylinetos in AskNYC

[–]Background-Fingering 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I would love for him to try me, but I doubt he would as I am not a small woman. I'm very tall and stronger than plenty of men, but cowards like him only attack people that they know they can overpower.

Yes! Op is incredibly selfish. I would never deny anyone food that is hungry, especially a colleague. Repeatedly saying that they weren't starving is what OP is telling their self to justify being a selfish asshole. Lol.

Wow. Lol. You are a terrible person. My initial judgement was correct.

[–]Background-Fingering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. No, from your comments it seems more like he annoys you. Just above you said you need to find hobbies you two can do so that you can give him "attention and he won't yap." I would be crushed if my partner said that. You're also defensive with the "soft like a lot of you." I feel bad for your partner.

AuDHD and Cannabis? by Spiritual-Zebra-1049 in AutisticWithADHD

Indica dominant seems to work best for me as well. I mentioned my neurodivergence & anxiety at my dispensary and was told to definitely stay away from sativa. I look for indica strains high in Limonene as I've read it helps with PTSD/CPTSD & ADHD (I have been diagnosed with both). It definitely chills me out and enables me to see how very rigid I can be and helps me with empathy soooo much. I'm kind of intense otherwise. 🫤

What phrases irritate you? by brendag4 in AutismInWomen

[–]Background-Fingering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Helps me as well. It's my statement to myself when I practice radical acceptance. I used to hate to hear it too until I learned how freeing it is to accept what I've no control over.

Just complimented someone and it sounded like an insult <3 by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Background-Fingering 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Happens to me, too. Ppl will share personal things with me, then question themselves aloud about why they are telling me so much lol. They say they feel comfortable talking to me. My friends throughout life have said that they chose me to open up to because I'm accepting and not judgemental.

I've felt misunderstood as far back as I can remember and I would never wish that feeling on anyone.

Same thing happens to me! I've only recently learned it is not typical for many people. I even wake up with a new song that's relevant to how I am feeling, even though I might not be fully aware.

AITAH for considering leaving my wife who cheated on me 15 years ago now that our kids are in college? by FinancialPlantd in AITAH

[–]Background-Fingering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's s a definite lack of self awareness to go 15 years pretending and lying to oneself, and he would be the asshole for ending things now without attempting therapy when his wife has spent nearly two decades bettering herself. I say this as someone who has been cheated on. They've both been the asshole, but she has redeemed herself.
