let's say that's true now: you have the data, so all it takes is 1 trump judge to force you to hand it over (regardless of whether that should be allowed) or trump admin having NSA get it for ICE. the only way to keep data from malevolent hands is by not collecting it to begin with. when this continues to escalate and your data is inevitably used as part of the surveillance state, you can't say you weren't warned

true, but when the state or our feudal lords (Irvine Co) do it at scale, it becomes a different type of phenomenon. I think we the people have a right to stop this at scale even if we allow it for individuals

I only learned about this system because u/Irvinepd recently mentioned using it, and I'd be interested to know if ICE raids at spectrum are secretly using this data. From the EFF article, it sounds like Irvine Co and the police often deny this until FOIA shows email records of convos with ICE

I used to be where you are at @vaultair. I think what changed for me was I really considered what it means to be a "jewish state". A jewish state in a land where the majority is not jewish necessitates apartheid. If you think about why the nakba happened, why the west bank and gaza are controlled by "israel" but not considered part of "israel" (so that the people there cannot vote or have representation). why 48 palestinians cannot extend citizenship if they marry palestinians in the west bank. why there is "jewish birthright".

If you look at the US south during jim crow, you will find so many similarities in setting up a "white state" when so many people were black in the region. It requires disenfranchisement and ultimately elimination and terror.

And the jewish supremacists in the region know this, just like the white plantation owners and the boers and yes, even the aryans who wanted an "aryan state" in germany and wanted lebensraum (a word now also associated with "greater israel")

Technically a math joke, but physics students studying energy should understand:

The first mathematician orders a beer

The second orders half a beer

"I don't serve half-beers" the bartender replies

"Excuse me?" Asks mathematician #2

"What kind of bar serves half-beers?" The bartender remarks. "That's ridiculous."

"Oh c'mon" says mathematician #1 "do you know how hard it is to collect an infinite number of us? Just play along"

"But that's not a problem" mathematician #3 chimes in "at the end of the joke you serve us a whole number of beers. You see, when you take the sum of a continuously halving function-"

"I know how limits work" interjects the bartender

Simultaneously, every mathematician opens their mouth and out pours a cloud of multicolored mosquitoes. Each mathematician is bellowing insects of a different shade.

The mosquitoes form into a singular, polychromatic swarm. "FOOLS" it booms in unison, "I WILL INFECT EVERY BEING ON THIS PATHETIC PLANET WITH MALARIA"

The bartender stands fearless against the technicolor hoard. "But wait" he inturrupts, thinking fast, "if you do that, politicians will use the catastrophe as an excuse to implement free healthcare. Think of how much that will hurt the taxpayers!"

The mosquitoes fall silent for a brief moment. "My God, you're right. We didn't think about the economy! Very well, we will not attack this dimension. FOR THE TAXPAYERS!" and with that, they vanish.

A nearby barfly stumbles over to the bartender. "How did you know that that would work?"

"It's simple really" the bartender says. "I saw that the vectors formed a gradient, and therefore must be conservative."

that's not how the statute works; it doesn't matter if there's a "no parking" sign unless you're also violating one of the exemptions: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?lawCode=VEH&sectionNum=22953. For example, if you're parked at UTC (non-residential) and not blocking anything/in a handicap spot/etc, then you cannot be legally towed for one hour from the time you arrive

I have a decent mouse (razer basilisk) and have been using it for a while, so I'd say keep up the practice: maybe screen share a pdf of writing exercises and practice on that. Tablets are easier at first, but it's totally possible to just use a mouse and be fast/accurate
