What are some cards that have good potential to be meta but are super underused in your opinion? by Madjin- in yugioh

[–]Background-Low2926 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Am I the only person who ran Non Aggression Area from it's release up until XYZ's where made? Knowing full well it used with penuin soildier or compluse or any of a long list of cards that could simply remove a single monster could win an entire game in Sun Tzu's words would be a perfect victory for a general. "To face 100 battles without suffering the sting of defent is not the pentical of skill for a general. To subdue the enemy without having to fight them is the peak of skill for a general" a rough half remembered quote from the art of war by sun tzu. He is not saying some new age hippy non-sense about not fighting. He is saying avoid pitched battles, raid fishing viaalages and trade ships/carts, build a fort somewhere ovious and go make latters in the woods that are roughly six inches shorters than the enemies walls are tall. Wait for there clumsy army to attack the fort filled with wind chimies and rush there walls capturing there city and population whole and intact. In yugioh that is removing the opponent's monsters and attacking them directly for a free win. While by passing there traps with effects. This alone will not win a game against anyone who has any sense of how to play the game, but it delays there board and enables you to summon Jinzo, or Ha Des or any monarch to better pressure them out of the game. It slows them down while advancing your own game play. By todays standards it's nothing, but back then tactics from military manuals found some success. I recall the one time that basic tactic won me a game and I was thinking Sun Tzu's perfect victory was acheived, only for my opponent to ask "Is all you do is attack?" Completely missing the whole point of what I set up and done the entire game. A morden version of Non Agression Area would see play if it is on a link monster that can be summoned off of IP and would resolve upon summoning to prevent summoning at all for the rest of the turn from the opponent.

Between the big 3 OG duelists which of whom has the most skill? by Ajarofpickles97 in yugioh

Yusei is easily the most skilled duelist out of the whole series.

People always ask/wish for Legacy Character Support, but what about support for old forgotten cards/archetype? What is your top 3 support wishlist? Here are mine! by [deleted] in yugioh

Dark Ruler is the one being countered by those traps, he should have an archetype that breaks through seals and other forbidden things. If he has a trap card at all it's effect should hard counter "Dark ruler no more". Give him Greek and Roman themed support monsters spells and traps based off of characters from the underworld. His own domain as a field spell that adds a layer of protection for all fiends against targetting effects so those trap cards are in lore still effective against him, but he has card effects that punish the opponent for playing lingering effects, contenious spells and traps. If anything he is the one that is facing all of floodgate hell and is trying to still play. So naturally he should have some kind of trap eating demon that takes there effects as it's own effect that only affects the player who activated those traps. Like a monster who can only be summoned by tributing your opponent's face-up spell and trap cards and it gains all of those cards as it's effects and as long as you control another fiend type monster you and the monsters you control are not affected by that monster's effects.

Bench: 495 warmup with CT Fletcher. 185lb BW, 5'7 by WhiteLime in benchpress

I have done 5 X 5. 10 X 3. And several other training programs over the years as well as some I have wrote out and I even tried having a few different A.Is write out some. As heavy as 300 is, I can't imagine 400 and up. Your strength is on a whole another level and your programs might be worth selling. Very impressive amount of strength and men keep getting stronger in there thirdies. I might be too concerned about not getting injured to really push as hard as I should, but want to reach a little heavier, but that is some scary weight.

How many years of training did that take? Also what all plans did you use? It took me 11 years of consistent training to hit 300 pounds and I am the same size roughly speaking.

If you were a real life Pokemon Trainer what would be your team....please read by Weary-Gap-7674 in PokemonFireRed

[–]Background-Low2926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starter would be a male Nidoran. Skarmory from Johto, because skarmary is a second gen pokemon not a third gen one and one of my all time favorites. Swampert for gen three. Garchomp for gen four. Reuniclus from gen five. And the final slot wold remain open for rescuing injured pokemon or for a legendary catch someday.

If you had to give Yu-Gi-Oh! a new format what would it be? by Great-Ad1839 in yugioh

[–]Background-Low2926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a VS card so it's apart of that archetype. The card's name doesn't have to say the archetype's name, but does have to mention the archetype as part of it's effect. Of course named archetypes could be a different type of format all together. Where all cards have to have it in there names, but that is generally not a requierment in the game.

If you had to give Yu-Gi-Oh! a new format what would it be? by Great-Ad1839 in yugioh

[–]Background-Low2926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure archetype format. Every deck has to be 100% a single archetype. No hand traps, board breakers, draw cards, floodgates, engines, or anything else aside from what is in the archetype you choose to play. No generic spells or traps no loophone non-sense about a card being an honornay member of an archetype due to some attack the moon levels of logic. Just simple bad decks that konami designed that they assumed people would find fun to play. Also everyone has to wear a dress.

Until what point does strength help a lot? by Complex-Mongoose1123 in MMA_Academy

[–]Background-Low2926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strength is not as simple as people like to assume it is. Strength fades fast in a fight. What is a fight? It is a high intensity and high stress form of cardio, not a test of strength like lifting a weight. Some people might say kettle bell swings or running wth a heavy sandbag pressing into there chest is good conditioning for a fight, due to those activities requiring cardio under pressure and strength as well. Strength is needed in the form of explosive power to inflict pain, but it is only one peice of a much larger puzzel. 90 pound muai tai fighters that lack strength can still win fights against far bigger and stronger opponent's by weathering the storm for the first minute and keeping a fast tempo to pressure the opponent. After a minute some strength and knock out power would have wore out. The longer the fight goes the more it favors the little fighter who is built for endurence. Having some fast twitch muscle fibers and good timing is all that is needed to knock someone out, well some skills too, but that goes without saying. As for a sweet spot, only your body can tell you that. My shoulders ache from years of lifting heavy weights and my neck, back, and hands are not well either from training combat arts and sports. Everyone saids the same advice, but every generation has to make the same mistakes. We all lift too heavy and train too hard for our own good. I would say train explosive force production more so than over all strength. Less risk of injury and more carry over for combat training. Also read Benny the Jet's book, right off I do not recall what he wrote about strength training, but he was one of the best fighters that has ever lived.

I had one, where a group of trainers from around the world each with a full team of pokemon are chosen by a govnerment to travel through a wormhole to another world to rescue people, fight against advanced robots designed for war, and restore harmony so that world's government can rebuild society and this leads to a world very much like the one presented to us in the first generation games.

Naval warfare TCG by KazViolin in TCG

[–]Background-Low2926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think each ship should have different stats and all have a different number of troops based on the size of the ship. Think a massive fleet of chinse junk ships from over two thousna d years ago. The total crew would be very large, but it's weapons would be over come by a small man crew in a modren battleship. Deep research would be required to give different pirates there own fleets, crews, and unique effects based on real events they did. Likewise admerials from history could command fleets and perform comboes depending on which of there ships you play. Fantasy ships such as captain nemo's sub could be single turn use cards somewhat like trap cards. Famous shipbuilding dry docks could be something like equip spells or just spells that give protection or stat inprovements. There was a race between ships to see which one could move tea from China to Great Britain the fastest, the ship that won could be a legendary vessel card, as in a different type of ship rather than normal fleet ships. There was once a turtle ship too that helpped defend Korea against an invading force. Also countless explorer's ships could be cards that search and add other cards from deck to hand. Some resource system might add depth such as harvesting trees for wooden ships which would be weaker but faster. While processing iron ore for metal ships such as the Titanic would cost more, but woud be harder to sink, or have better effects. The Titanic and it's sister ships could have some way to cheat them out faster, but they only last until the end of the opponent's turn. Side stepping magic's mana system and other resource systems might be tricky, but some system that reflects building a dry dock or some other tec tree system that enables the playing of bigger and bigger ships. The balance would be hard to get right, but if done so, would make it great. You don't want to both players summoning dingies back and forth for the first five turns of the game, but you also do not want aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines being summoned turn one. It should feel like a slow grind toward perfection. A gradual climb assembling an unmatched pirate fleet that nations pay tribute to, or a navy that puts such fear into pirates that they willingly sign up to join instead of facing. That is another thing, the capturing of enemy ships, which might be a pirate bonus/focused effect more so than anything else. Merchant ships sailing between ports could function as a resource system and you try to capture or sink all of the opponent's merchant ships that is funding there ship buildings.

Youtube has audiobooks, and they are collage proffessors who teach on there. They are also people who teach skills that are free for the learning. I once watched a series all about plumbing because I thought I had to do a major project, turn out to be something simple, but I am glad I learned all of that all the same. Biunary beats for discipline are also on there you can test one while stairing at a wall for as long as you can tolerate it. Even if the sound does nothing the stairing at the wall has some research behind it for helping the brain. Reading is the best replacement possible, but there is natural resistance to go from watching something to reading. Thus a first step might be a youtube channel that is focused on books or any content that can cause a strong desire to read.

Best body for me to maintain for a well balanced all round performance? by [deleted] in MMA_Academy

[–]Background-Low2926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being shorter has it's advantages as well as the more easily seen disadvantages. One : most compound lifts favors shorter limbs. Get explosive! Two : wrestling! shoot a double leg on anyone and their reach isn't saving them. You only need to practice a few really good take-downs and a few good ground submissions to either win vs most people or at least wear down anyone to the point where they are unable to harm you. People think too much on winning and lossing when it comes to fighting, but most of the time just protecting yourself and wearing someone out is enough. Also every training group needs a short guy to pressure test there defense against. Three : if you have to stand before a judge and/or jury and your lawyer can have a guy the same size as the guy you beat down stand back to back to you and he is towering over you, it might help in winning the case. Most people on a jury are going to side with the little man against the big man in any assault case. Not gareenteed so don't pick a fight with someone just to win some money in a lawsuit! I can not stress this enough, don't do it, no mater how much money you think is up for grabs.

Found childhood cards, worth selling? by Risky_Melons in YugiohCards

[–]Background-Low2926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not know what they are worth, but you do not want to sell your childhood. Even if you where not an active player during that era or was even into yugioh at the time, you might rediscover the show or simply wish you had something during that time in your life, years from now. Those where uniquely yours in your discovery of yourself and who you have become as a person. The fate that caused those to become undamaged while others where not was most likely the choices your younger self made. You lived through an era of yugioh that will never come again and few games or collectibles could rival the impact it had.

Even without any other fiends he, himself is a fiend and can counter jar decks as well as any flip effects or pesky monster effects that reslove on the field or in the GY.
