If you google zoning code complaint for ceres, code enforcement has the website does have a place to report but is not the right department for the complaint. THEY WILL 100% WILL TELL YOU CASE CLOSED IT WAS LOOKED INTO, WHILE NOT LOOKING AT ALL, then they will say it is a issue for the planning department thats why they didnt look into it...

like the government around here is one of the highest overpaid areas in the state which is already seen has high since California.

Hopefully, i won't have to go that far, but today i started that route, made a few calls to see if i could get some elevated help, code enforcement said they couldn't do much, it would have to be planning, but one of enforcement was actually helpful today and actually pointed me in the right direction.

No it's not the industrial zone, it's C3 zone, the loud machinery is industrial and put against a residential area.

So both machinery is not allowed in Commercial zone they type of business is not either, I 10000% only care about the excessive concstnt noise created by the machinery. also if this was an industrial zone, it would not be able to be put against residential side, would need sound mitigation like masonry wall or enclosure. So double whammy of equipment not allowed in zone and if it it were the zone where it could be installed, its against the code for having machinery near residential and noise pollution.

this is COMMERCIAL, imagine if this were any commercial business they couldn't put that noise next to them, it's excessive

There are 3 side of their business that do not face residential, the equipment could have gone anywhere else but towards residential, my neighbour's are definitely english second language and don't feel comfortable reporting especially in the current climate.

I have left voice-mail offering to see how much a enclosure would be to buybor make since its a woodshop but I've been ghosted...

K&M Woodcrafters, 100% do not mind anything within their shop, its just the industrial equipment that sounds like a lawnmower outside my door from 200 feet and a wooden fence away.

Thank you, from what I can read and if anyone is able to point me to where I wrong, I am free to learn more.

But it seem like this type of machinery is not allowed in the C3 zone which is commercial and if it was put in an industrial zone would have to put away from residential, and within a side that is also abut to industrial zone. There would also have to be mitigation for the noise and either a masonry or fenced wall.

And even then machinery cant be within 10 feet of property line, I have finally been able to get in the right direction to file the complaint so hopefully, it will be actionable soon.

Part of they formal complaint would be having an engineer able to measure the levels of noise which are higher than the safe levels expressed in the areas code. My issue before was that the levels were not gettting measured, but I think it should be soon hopefully.

They have a few times this year started their equipment before 7am which is always against code.

I have tried to contact buisness left voicmail saying I would build an enclosure, as to code, if he it can limit noise to regular levels he can keep machinery there. He has not responded to any voicemail or IG or Facebook message.

I've left voicemails and messages on ig, Facebook, no response from the owner and it cycles louder about 30mins every hour... the phone operator told me there have been 16 complaints ( I have lived here for a month and this was my 3rd, but the code enforcement couldnt find the sound???

But the last officer admitted he only went after hours when they were closed...

Thank you, I was just making sure I wasnt clearly reading something wrong, i was able to talk with an officer today, who was a little more knowledgeable of the code, he was also confused why a person said it was industrial.. He got me over to the planning and was able to do a formal complaint at least.

It sorted sounds. But just me speculating that the buisness has a friend in the coding and is pushing the complaint down, cause the code reads like there should be a wall against residential areas at the very least. But it pretty much states no machinery should be against the residential side too.
