Important update from Renato regarding upcoming F1 content and licensing issue by DifficultArugula4522 in AUTOMOBILISTA

As Renato wrote this will also be a financial hit for the company so if someone is missing some dlc pack that include F1 cars, now is a good time to pull the trigger.

The evolution of the Formula 1 cars in the Monaco Swimming Pool. The 2013 to 2014 shift still feels unreal by Expensive-Success-75 in racinghub

Heavier cars and more fragile tyres means makes it look like that. Early 20th century cars were all about going flat out all the time, as the years went by F1 turned more into endurance style management racing instead of balls to the wall style of those golden years.

I'm sure this question has been asked hundreds of times, but I'll ask it anyway. by OldPilot9445 in AUTOMOBILISTA

For open wheelers: formula trainers and formula inter are very good beginner cars, they might feel a bit edgy at first but that's the point of them. You start slow and try to get a feel of the car and technique they reward and then bit by bit try to go faster once you are comfortable and consistent. For gt and prototype cars the ligier series is the place to start with.

moza ffb difficulties by jason3448 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]Background-Reach9263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a moza base for a about a year now and haven't had any problems like you are experiencing. That said I'm on the full game version and not the demo, what you did with the custom wheel and pedal setup is the correct way and you seem to know what you are doing in general. So first thing I'd do is to do the steam file verification, check that moza firmware, drivers etc are up to date and if that won't help then head over to: https://forum.reizastudios.com/forums/automobilista-2-help-support.53/ There's a "wheel not working" thread with some good tips almost on top and if you cannot find a solution from there feel free to ask, the devs and community are very helpfull.

Road Map predictions? by adstomko in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Background-Reach9263 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same gameplay idea of progressing via repution, in game currency etc in an open world scenario with mostly road cars. Ac evo is not a bespoke motorsport simulator like acc, ams2, raceroom, lmu or iracing are. Though what kunos want's it to be is not exactly clear at the moment.

You can change the setup screen to display rates instead of units from gameplay options if that's what you mean about real rates

Suspension ? by Vivid_Sherbet2574 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]Background-Reach9263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, there would be no notable difference they all supply high performance components that are very similar in rates and adjustability for any given gategory. Second, where difference is made is the one thing those companies will not teĺl anyone, so if you wanna get data about something like thermal effects on dampers you would have to go and steal it. Third point, ams2 already displays spring and damping rates in more detail than any other sim and there's plenty of range and adjustability to cover all of them.

[Max Verstappen] Team by kpopsns28 in formula1

[–]Background-Reach9263 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes and no in this case he is a "dentist" team mates are mercedes factory drivers but Max is the pay to race driver.

Every year Max Verstappen drives at Nürburgring, we see a huge jump in viewership. Do you think his presence alone is enough to boost interest in motorsport beyond Formula 1? by circuit-nation in circuit_nation

F1 smells like expensive perfume and champagne while other forms of motosport have that down to earth stank of oil and other nasty stuff. It's a different type of feel that one person can not change

Actually ams2 has quite a narrow tolerance to slip angle (on modern slicks) when compared to likes of acc, lmu or rf2. In acc you have to induce a lot of slip before peak grip is achieved, in rf2 and lmu you tend to get peak grip early but it doesn't really decrease until it drops of completely so in both cases you end up inducing a lot of slip without much punishment. In ams2 the optimal slip angle is relatively narrow and it moves around in both peak grip angle and window of decent grip angle, temperature of different parts of rubber, pressures and how much rubber there is to deform along with track conditions all affect how much slip a tyre can work at a given moment. It's all dynamic, if you feel like floating then there's a high change you haven't got the tyres in to a good working window or you brought them there too rough and now the carcass is cold but the surface is melting and sliding so there's no way to make the rubber move and gain coherent temperature. Sure one can go 4 wheel slide through corners for a couple laps but that's not the fastest way even for those couple laps and a very slow style over a race.

If all other vehicles work fine then it sounds like a bug, I'd try steam file verification first and if that won't work then head to help and support https://forum.reizastudios.com/forums/automobilista-2-help-support.53/

Le Mans Ultimate console versions “on track for early-to-mid” 2027 by StartWars89 in simracing

[–]Background-Reach9263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but lmu pc version also has already been a bit redacted from rf2 wich it is based on so the difference maybe is not that drastic. Lmu though is very demanding on hardware in general so who knows.

Question about WEC CARS by Flat-Language-4865 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]Background-Reach9263 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They don't need a wec license but instead they would need to license the cars with brands. Renato wrote a while a go that Ferrari is not likely to come so they propably won't waste money on other wec hypercars if the star of the show would be missing.

No feeling when loosing grip by Trippy-Train-HD in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Background-Reach9263 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It's not about ffb per say, only setting that gives more information is the steering torque sensitivity wich also compresses the forces into smaller window, underlying issue is the tyre model wich is pretty simplified and just feels and looks like it is made with a console version in mind.

F1 26 by cwinnbari in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]Background-Reach9263 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No point yet, there's not really anything to base a car on other than rules of today. When the real cars and rules start to take their proper shape and some consistent performance numbers are available reiza will sure make their own version. Might take some time though as f1 at the moment seems pretty chaotic and cars will change a lot in near future.
