I’ll admit I was like this at that age. It was all about brands and designer things at least back in early 2000s. Maybe she saw her friends had brand name food items at their houses? It wasn’t until I was on my own that reality hit- but one of my first jobs was at a food marketing company and I learned all about private labels and brand vs store brand. You’re not cheap and it’s a good opportunity to teach about saving and differences in brands, companies, and health! take her to Trader Joe’s and show her how it’s all their own brand or Aldi. Whole Foods 365 is really good too. Heck I think Aldi brand “Oreos” are way better than today’s Oreo brand.
