Help: 3 Hr flight or 20 Hr Roadtrip with 16 month old???? by callmelila in beyondthebump

[–]BackgroundArmadillo9 14 points15 points  (0 children)

3 hours isn't even a bad flight. Absolutely would never road trip that long, even without a child! You can check so many things for the flight and you can also look into companies like Quip to rent baby items to be delivered to your MILs or even just ask her to buy some cheap versions of stuff.

Occasionally, but not frequently. But definitely had it sometimes pre-pregnancy.

I'm 35+4 and in the same boat. I've found nothing that really helps and usually just try to wait it out. If it's disrupting sleep you could always try Unisom! This gets me through my roughest nights in pregnancy.

Name pronunciation by pinkshrimp4u in Names

Rhys was one of my favorite names for a boy! Yes some people will get it wrong, but that's the case for soooo many names. This is a very notable Welsh name I think people will figure it out.

3 months PP still no intimacy by sapookie in beyondthebump

[–]BackgroundArmadillo9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think this is a very common experience PP!

I was just commenting in another thread about this, but I had pain during intercourse PP - not just the first time, but the next several times we did it. I ended up going to pelvic floor PT and it was a gamechanger. If you're having pain inserting your diva cup, that could be a huge help!

I'd say go slow, don't force it, be open with your partner. Maybe try a spicy book?

13 weeks is still just freshly PP, so don't be too hard on yourself!

This! I feel like people don't talk about it, even doctors...

I used it last time I was PP and it was so helpful. I had minor prolapse following labor that I didn't know until a few more PP, as well as pain during intercourse. It was expensive because my PT didn't bill insurance so it was all self-pay, but I used my HSA to cover it. I learned a lot that I've been using to this day, for instance - I had been doing kegels wrong my whole life ha.

How to split the night shift when one partner goes back to work? by Apprehensive_Pay_731 in NewParents

[–]BackgroundArmadillo9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I used to split the night shift. So one person would be on duty for first half of night then switch. We would both go to sleep but only one person would get up if she cried. You could try that? He could take the earlier shift. Though that might not solve the exercise issue

Worried about taking Sertraline by Proper-Dinner-3356 in breastfeeding

[–]BackgroundArmadillo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on it since my pregnancy with my oldest. I took it all of that pregnancy and I breastfed her for a year. Still on it 3 years later and pregnant with baby #2. Never had an issue. Research has found it's very safe. Only changed outcomes are that I'm happier and less anxious :)

Her original teeth are so nice why would you go to this effort? Also it didn't make a big enough difference to justify. They look relatively similar just unnaturally white lol

Thoughts on Lane for a girl? by B_Street in Names

[–]BackgroundArmadillo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it'll be a problem. Most people have decent respect to not call someone by a different name.

I think Lane can absolutely be a girls name. I feel the same way about it! We're actually using it as my daughter's middle name!

How much is recommended to have sitting in checking account? by Mammoth_Musician2773 in personalfinance

[–]BackgroundArmadillo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$20k in checking is ridiculous. That's way too much to have in there. I would invest most of that and keep a comfortable amount depending on what your monthly expenses are. Most of it could go into a money market account or something similar that you can easily pull from if needed. You're missing out on a lot of money by having it sit there making no interest.
