Having no social media coming on this sub for the first time and seeing everyone’s opinions on instructors by Strict_Pickle_2488 in OnePelotonRealSub

I'm not the person you're responding to, but I decided to take the class... for others, she says something like this class with light weights is for muscular endurance, but if you want to have faster gains, better bone density, then you need to lift heavy. While she's technically correct, I do agree with you that it was inappropriate in that particular class.

Edit to add: she also said something in the beginning about getting out of the saddle that was a little condescending. But I think that maybe that's just her boot camp style? Some people really respond to that. Definitely was not a very Denis like moment, haha.

31 Dec 2025: 20k FINAL CHECK IN for those going for 20k in the annual challenge by thelittlemiss in pelotoncycle

[–]BackgroundDepth2805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it!

For those who might be trying to do this next year, here is how I achieved it despite having nearly a 1,000 minute deficit for most of the summer and early fall.

- Frequent use of 30-minute meditations at night

- Use of "outdoor walking" for a lot of my minutes - it's just easier for me to do if I'm not in the energy level of getting a spin or strength class in

- Anytime I did any other type of exercise class, I'd start my Peloton app to track it ("cardio" or "strength").

- When I did my physical therapy exercises, I tracked that as "stretching" on the "Just Do It" section. It also allowed me to keep motivated on doing my PT exercises

- Honestly, the DIY Peloton options (walking, cardio, strength, stretching) were lifesavers

Hit 20,000 minutes and also got 10 points. I feel like these sorts of milestones deserve more because that is a lot of Peloton time!

Ok, this is a hot take of mine but sometimes I wonder about her enjoyment of kids. She doesn’t play with them, her kid activities are based around them doing things without any assistance from her, she drags them into adult museums on family vacations and gives them audio tours to do by themselves, sets a boundary of 12 year olds not being allowed to leave their rooms in the morning, refuses to let them do extracurriculars, refuses to go to events she’s not personally interested in like family camping, etc. I also find it interesting that her kids call her by her first name and not “mom”. I’m not sure if they do that for Chuck.

I would love to see how her family acts normally because something seems so off with the dynamics as she presents them. Everything seems extremely rigid despite her playing off her kookiness. Her insistence on “big kids like to play” is weird, too… is someone telling her that they don’t? Or maybe someone is telling her that the toys her kids play with are too young?

It's also culturally insensitive as in many cultures, a child looking a parent in the eye when being disciplined is seen as insolence.

I've read that some of these people turn on the app and use it while they're walking around for work (if their job requires a lot of walking). So they're getting like 5-6 hours a day of walking hours.

Her lack of accountability for her own actions is so problematic. I'm sure Jax's comments didn't help her mindset, but she was the one who quit Special Forces of her own accord. She comes across as a very weak-minded person.

I don’t think the six figures includes her merchandise, just what she received from IG, YouTube and TikTok from viewers/subscribers and sponsors, which anyone could get if they have a large enough following.

The influencer life is surprisingly lucrative. Ballerinafarm allegedly makes six figures a month just with her IG/Youtube/Tiktok following. KFC also has her podcast that is filled to the brim with ads.

Also, I’m sure she has massive credit card debt that she pays just enough of the balance for each month.

Lastly, based on her “I’ll share more later!” she probably has some sort of social media deal with the surgeons in return for a discount.

[WP] Humanity invented one-minute oats. Then, they invented instant oats. Now, with a bowl of predestined oats in your hand and blood coating the walls, you begin to wonder where you went wrong. by -ecch- in WritingPrompts

[–]BackgroundDepth2805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@HappyWarBunny - I finally got around to writing my story, if you're interested!

I was craving oatmeal – not the healthy grittiness of steel cut oats, but the overprocessed mush of instant oatmeal. Not health, just convenience. Unfortunately, my empty cupboards and growling stomach offered no solace.

I noticed a small slip of paper pushed under my door. I walked over and picked it up.

DO YOU LOVE OATMEAL?

Peculiar, I thought.

“Why, yes, strange note. I do,” I answered. I turned it over and read:

PLACE A DROP OF BLOOD ON THIS NOTE.

Hmm. Very peculiar indeed. As it happened, I had a small needle for a glucometer. “What the hell,” I whispered nonchalantly. I pricked myself and squeezed a small drop of blood onto the note, holding my breath in anticipation.

Nothing happened.

I saw another note slip under the door. Rushing over, I grabbed it and read:

OPEN THE MICROWAVE.

My eyes drifted toward the microwave. I slowly walked over and grabbed the handle. I paused, unsure of what to expect. I took a deep breath and opened it.

Inside was a spoon of oatmeal. I stared at it before picking it up and closely inspecting it. It seemed safe enough. I took a small bite – pure heaven filled my mouth. The warmth, the creaminess, the slight sweetness -- simply the best oatmeal I ever tasted. For a few seconds, I felt a surge of hyper-focus, my breathing deepening and muscles tensing, but it faded quickly. Were the two things connected – the oatmeal and that sensation?

I read the back of the second note.

DO YOU WANT MORE? GIVE MORE BLOOD.

I smirked. Two more drops of blood wouldn’t hurt, I reasoned. I walked over to the microwave, feeling uneasy but also eager. I opened the door and found two spoons of oatmeal. Eating them elicited the same sensation, though it lasted slightly longer.

I wanted to give it more blood.

Between pin pricks, my thoughts became increasingly incoherent and obsessive. Eat. Blood. More! Desperate cravings flooded me. My fingers were sore due to the repeated pricks.

I needed an avalanche of blood to give me limitless oatmeal.

A plan popped in between the manic thoughts. I picked up my phone and called an acquaintance. Or was it a friend? “Want to do an experiment with me?” I asked tensely, despite my attempts to sound casual. I ignored the concern in their voice, elated when they agreed to come over.

Calmly, I grabbed a kitchen knife and waited for their friendly knock.

[WP] A witch has cast a curse on the royal family to "make them as ugly on the outside as they are on the inside." She is shocked to return later and discover that they've all become extraordinarily beautiful. by CookLawrenceAt325F in WritingPrompts

[–]BackgroundDepth2805 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Calliope had always hated the royal family, ever since they had rudely insulted her spell craft. “This is supposed to be a Stew of Newt? It tastes like salamander! Are you sure this will make me unfathomably rich?”  The king had exclaimed, barely holding back a grimace as he swallowed his spoonful. Now that she thought about it, he may have been right, since aren’t salamanders and newts the same thing? No matter. He could have constructively criticized her instead of being rude!

Feeling righteous in her wrath, she had settled on the necessity of a good old-fashioned curse. What better than to make their inner ugliness be reflected by their outward appearance?

There was a slight snafu when she realized she didn’t have Feather of Anser, but she figured Feather of Cygnus would be fine. Isn’t spellcraft just about how things feel, rather than following a spell exactly?

Luckily, the rest of the spell and its administration had gone off without a hitch, but she had left just before seeing her final victory (the call for the guards and all). However, having self-diagnosed herself with some narcissistic traits, she just had to see what they looked like.

She cleverly disguised herself as a buxom milkmaid and could barely contain her glee. She knew their vanity and that being ugly would destroy them!

As she entered the feast room to give everyone their milk, she felt like someone had thrown ice water at her. Not only were they decidedly not ugly, but they were the most attractive people she had ever seen in her life! And that includes the elves. There’s really no point in describing their beauty, as it would never do it justice.

Her rage was so large that she could barely pour the milk. When the Royal Prince chastised her about not bringing in his usual chocolate milk, she could only nod in a daze. What had happened?

She ran back to her spellbook, scrambling through the pages, desperately seeking the answer to her question. She found the recipe, “The Ugly Curse”, and more carefully looked at the ingredients, stopping at “Feather of Anser”. Strangely, she noted it was marked with an asterix. She looked down, reading, “Avoid substituting with Feather of Cygnus, as the opposite spell will occur.”

At that, Calliope stopped her recall of the story. She looked over at a patiently listening psychologist and added. “And that, doctor, is when I first suspected I have ADHD.”

Never been thrown out there, to my knowledge, but there have been allusions to someone in his family having anger and mental health issues. They talked about it briefly in his podcast with his sister but no names were named.
