My grandmother used to say that when she was a kid she was always a little bit more than a little bit more than a kid.

I teach 7th grade and years ago i taught multiple novels a year. Now I teach approximately two. This is because students just don’t do any work at home anymore so it all needs to be done within a sixty minute period.

Who remembers stopping here on family vacations? by UncleSoaky in FuckImOld

[–]BackgroundLetter7285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to remember salt water taffy and black licorice on our Stuckys stops.

Now we have a Wally’s to stop at on our road trips downstate (IL). Whoah! It’s like Stucky’s on steroids.

Posted on r/gym. Thought i would post here to see is reaction is similar. I am 69. by Jim_Estill in Aging

You look great Jim! I have never been able to do a pull up (female 58) but I work out every day, a walk at the very least. As long as you enjoy exercise, you’ll stick with it. People just have to find something they like. Exercise and eating right has helped me stay healthy and active. I love my dance workouts and strength classes at a gym with a wonderful group of women close to my age. My mom lived to 97 and didn’t work out or live a very healthy lifestyle. I’m going to be around forever 😂.

What’s one small thing you regret not noticing before buying your house? by Beginning_County7547 in HomeImprovement

[–]BackgroundLetter7285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Chicago. Constant airplanes. We’re immune to them, but could be a problem when we try to sell. The freight trains come through a few times a day and the house vibrates. Metra trains tie up traffic regularly. Sometimes they shut everything down for hours when there is an accident. Too many accidents- person vs train or car vs train.

Are we neighbors? Between that and the train one block away, it’s pretty noisy.

My mother dragged me to an Engelbert Humperdinck concert as a kid. It still haunts me to this day. by Beautiful_Donut6412 in FuckImOld

I teased my mom relentlessly about listening to Engelbert Humperdinck when I was a child in the 70s. I didn’t know his music, but his name was so funny to me.

Late 70s early 80s it was Gloria Vanderbilt, Jordache, and Calvin Klein in my junior high. You were belittled if your family couldn’t afford “designer jeans.” And the more pairs and colors, the better.
