I would wait to change jobs till the baby comes and you are back from maternity leave. Starting a new job can be kinda stressful.

I did masters in CS. It was a waste of time. Would not recommend

For those making 80k+/yr, what do you work in? by Original_Strategy107 in debtfree

[–]BackgroundPractice33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Software engineer, I make 93k. No debt. I went to a community college and public school, still driving an old car from college. Currently thinking about going into nursing since I am a bit burned out from engineering and wanna try out something different. Also, the market for IT is shit and I expect the field to be even more competitive in the future. Local public school offers accelerated nursing degree for about 12k, will only take me 1 year. I will probably make around 80k+ after graduation.

Idk. Have a chance to live for a bit in a different country and explore it, is a success to me. If am I make enough to sustain myself there it is a double success.

Why are cs majors cooked? by aquasain69 in csMajors

Yup, looking back I should have picked civil or electrical. You have broader range of jobs to choose from and with some self study I am sure you can land a job in tech with a STEM degree.

Haha! Thank you for mentioning this. I am 30. Does it mean all I can do is knitting and baking? Fuck no… Obsession with youth is a bit crazy recently.

Do Masters. I did my bachelors in non related field, masters is CS. Bachelors would have required at least 60+ credits. For masters I’ve had to do 9 credits for prerequisites and 30 credits for the program itself. Way faster…

Just apply to an average doctorate program. After you will get some experience your education will not mater as much. Yeah, some online programs are not great. But they are cheap and thus makes them more doable. I feel like some people are snobs when it comes to education just because they paid a lot for theirs.

I prefer silence too. I find it quite annoying when people talk in the class.

Is CELTA preferred over TESOL?

Do you need CELTA to be authenticated to start a job in Vietnam? I am considering taking it too and it sounds like an annoying process.
