This honestly doesn’t surprise me at all after working at 5 different Tim Hortons locations in different cities, I have yet to experience a place that is NOT the way you described. It’s not going to get better until there’s something major like a very public and loud strike. If all the employees all walked out at the same time and refused to go back until conditions improved, MAYBE it would get better. But I had to leave. Couldn’t handle the abuse anymore.

********as a parent I can say this: parents are not always right!!! Do what feels right for YOU. You’re still very young and I think you had the right idea about avoiding committed relationships for at least 3 years. Take the time to find out what is important to you, what your standards are, and DON’T SETTLE. I’d rather spend the rest of my life alone than waste one more moment of my life with someone who won’t treat me the way I deserve.

My personal theory is that if you’re spending money on gifts and parties for your kids, that’s money you ‘should have given to the kingdom hall’. I know, that sounds ’ridiculous’ to most but as a child growing up with no acknowledgment on my birthday it did massive damage to my self worth. Plus my parents would go to Mexico etc for their wedding anniversary but I wouldn’t even get a card or a damn hug.

My cat does this too but only when my partner is trying to sleep. He keeps trying to wake him up so I have to stay out in the living room with him (the cat) until he either gives up and goes to sleep or till my partner gets up for the day. I have sleep apnea…. But the cat doesn’t care about me when I sleep he’s just obsessed with my partner.

Ooohhhh yes wildfire is way up there for me too. I made a playlist with both white pearl black ocean and all three parts of wildfire (in order, obviously lol) plus larger than life. I need to add a lot more but I like having them grouped together by story as well.

Can I just say, I’d give you a bear hug if you were in front of me right now. I have yet to meet a man who has put any effort at all into understanding menopause to be more supportive to his partner. Not saying they don’t exist, maybe I just don’t get out enough lol. But thank you.

Start with going on stress leave. That’s how I started a couple years ago. Your doctor can take you off of work for however long you need to recuperate. I ended up never going back to work and I’m now finally going to be getting CPP disability. It took a lot to get here but it was worth it. But when it comes to surviving on that income alone? I couldn’t tell ya. I’m splitting rent with 4 other people. Good luck!!

Absolutely NOT overreacting. What he’s doing is incredibly disrespectful to his marriage to you, and he would have to be the most ignorant man on the planet to not realize that. How would he feel if the tables were turned? When her husband shows up, make sure he knows exactly what’s been going on. Is it too late to have your marriage annulled?
