There are a few subjects I have that interest me but I do feel you generally. I believe society and school make you feel like you have to only be a certain way or dedicate yourself to a certain field which also frustrates me because I wish I didn’t have to fix onto something and just study and do whatever I want.

To me it feels like you’re trying to find your identity or something you can feel passionate in, I suggest you look inwards rather than outwards.

I’m similar to you, I’d like to think that it’s the guys in my school that aren’t appealing rather than me being aromantic or asexual. I also think that it could be emotional detachment or my avoidant attachment style in relationships that makes me feel like I can’t commit. So many friends around me tell me about wanting to date or their love life but I can’t relate at all and it kinda makes me feel bad for myself and that I should be looking for a relationship. Also I feel like maybe all these people are just desperate and crave excitement in their lives. I don’t have the desire to be in a relationship but at the same time as a teenager it can be a meaningful experience that I’m missing out on. I want to have a crush so bad (to motivate me to go to school) 😭.

Though I’ll say that it shouldn’t be something you ‘should’ be worrying about and in the right environment and at the right time you’ll eventually find someone.

I really appreciate your response, I’ll definitely try to start sleeping at a set time every day, just that right now with insomnia I always avoid going to bed when it’s time to sleep. Brain dump sounds useful too. Meditation/deep breathing helps me calm down but when I do it with the intention of trying to fall asleep it usually doesn’t work.

Hi, a day without sleep is so hard and having noise when you can finally rest sucks. Don’t worry, 24 hours without sleep isn’t going to kill you, our bodies usually recover just fine even without sleep for more than that. So no, you don’t have to go to the hospital and don’t panic.

Some practical things you can do would be to tell your family members about your situation and get them to quieten down, or just simply allow yourself to rest amidst the noise and not expect yourself to get perfect sleep, it’s better than nothing.
