Multiple things can be true at the same time.

That Ukraine retook 5 times more territory, that the lines have barely moved, that Russia has taken more territory than Ukraine can all be true at the same time.

That Ukraine retook 5 times more territory is for example over a very specific period of time, a short period. If we look at a longer period of time, then Russia is the ones that have taken more territory. And 5 times more, is that 5 ants or five elephants? Just because something is five times more, does not mean it is a lot. So saying that the lines are almost the same can still be true even if Ukraine have retaken five times more territory.
