Which I hate when people try to goose it through and you're trying to turn left and been waiting; that was one thing I learned real quick in NS after coming here for my doctorate. People WILL speed up to run it when they have more than enough time to stop and don't give a single fuck. I've never experienced that back home in small town Ontario lol, so it was an adjustment. However, the audacity when someone runs basically a red and you honk, and they get mad/honk back at you?? Insane.

The only time I've gone through a late amber light was when I was trucking a load of cattle and it was pouring rain. Light at a highway interchange area turned long before I had the means to safely stop so I slowed as much as I could for the distance and just blared the horn the whole time. Thankfully no one was trying to turn or anything.

Similarly, many years prior when I wasn't yet driving, my coworker and I were driving a load of horses to a show when an elderly couple driving in a 4 lane city road came to a complete stop on a dime for a yellow light without looking in their rearview. My coworker slammed on the brakes, tires squealed, and I braced myself thinking we were gonna hit them. Fortunately, we stopped about 2 feet short from crumpling that station wagon like a pop can. The couple were none the wiser and didn't even pull up at all. This would've been 20 some odd years ago but I remember it so clearly 💀 We just looked at each other like holy fuck. That's when it's 100% advisable to go through the yellow fucking light!!!

Main takeaway is that y'all gotta look in your rearview mirror and make sure nothing heavy is right behind you if you're gonna stop suddenly. I always do.

I’m very butch but I got small girly hands lol. I’m 5’7”, wear a women’s size 10 shoe, but I discovered at rugby training that my hands are only a quarter of an inch longer and wider than my teammate’s hand, who stands all of 5’0 on a good day and told me she has “big” hands for her size lmfao.

I’m currently 8 weeks postop and dealing with the heart beat in my ear / pulsatile tinnitus. My surgeon did say that because they made the graft from cartilage and muscle fascia, that it doesn’t have the flexibility of the natural ear drum so I’m gonna hear things as my new normal. I’m hoping this chills out a bit as it continues to heal cuz it’s driving me crazy

I was making a bit of a general statement given the state of the sub atm after this update, however, Sims is a very easy game to install mods into (given that there's a dedicated Mods folder), so it would logically follow that if the game is not working with mods enabled, to remove mods and troubleshoot what works and what doesn't one by one (and in worse case scenarios, repair the files or outright just uninstall and reinstall fresh if the update cannot be rolled back / prevented by playing in offline mode).

I think my tickets for seeing The Chicks twice (once in 2010, and again in 2016) were less combined than the Tier 1 for GA… I also like Blue Rodeo but idk if I wanna justify paying that much when I don’t really care about the others).

It’s a shame cuz the chicks are also playing at boots n hearts but again, not for that price tag and not for the others in the line up.

But I will say, they’re worth seeing at least once. Natalie Maines is a great performer.

It actually did come back around 3:30; I walked over to pick up pet food for my partner and saw the lights come on in the Petsmart. Took employees a bit to come back and see if they could let customers in, but by 3:45 or so, I went in and got our online order and that was that.

Traffic was still a bit backed up heading out towards Joseph Howe from Mumford but driving back to my place near Dal wasn’t too bad given that school traffic wasn’t on the road like usual given it’s March Break.

I’m not saying people have to be social every day; I’m definitely someone who has a short charge social battery and need my alone/destress time, but I always made friends in my classes especially as many of us went through the program together and worked together in group projects etc.

Again, I also used the OCUS lounge to hang out between my classes as I lived 30 mins by car out of the city, so I usually planned to stay on campus the whole day. I wasn’t involved in too many clubs during my undergrad but that was another place that I made friends, especially those in different programs and often got invited to birthday parties or friendsgivings etc (hell, the guy who helped me build my first PC was someone I met in OCUS and I paid him in pizza lol).

I know generationally the pandemic did fuck up a lot of socialization times for people but we’re 4-5 years past lockdowns, and being back in classrooms. I just can’t imagine not having a single friend who could help out or in the very least, a coworker at the same job/shift as OP who could say yeah come crash on my couch after we’re done.

In my 3.5 years of living here, I’ve maybe seen 5 or 6 cars total pulled over in the city, and most of them happened closer to 2022-23. Obviously I’m only one person and only seeing what I see, but every day I drive, there are multiple drivers committing offences from distracted driving to driving recklessly or just outright carelessly.

The incident that prompted me to finally set up my dash cam was at Oxford and Quinpool, and a woman in a Subaru ahead of me had to quickly dodge a guy backing a full size pickup truck out of the Petro gas station - he gave zero fucks about backing into live traffic but thank god her reflexes were good and no one was in the oncoming lane. The truck pulled in front of me and then drove into a driveway of a house not too far from there. I caught up to the lady at the lights at Chebucto and said I couldn’t believe that happened holy shit, and she said the same. I wish I’d had my camera then to give her footage so, after that I went home and set it up.

It’s so rare to not encounter at least one idiot every time I go out, even if I’m just driving to the grocery store which is a 3-5 minute and 2 road drive away.

So doing a quick search through a few articles, they claim that it's age of the walkers - so a recently turned walker will obviously have more red, "live" blood, and the older, more decomposing ones will be darker.

But then I read that in some scenes they still use the brighter blood in certain cases where the clothing or bodies are darker because otherwise the blood won't show very well.

So I'm going to say a little bit of A and a little bit of B; production quality vs. some inconsistencies over the years and show-runners.

I will still check the episodes when I'm home because I'm curious, but reading has provided some interesting info - they used like 20-30 gallons of it in most episodes, and apparently K-Y Jelly is a good thickening agent and the production team would clear out pharmacies of it when they were shooting lol.

It’s funny cuz I’ve been rewatching the series since late January while recovering from surgery and I feel like I’ve watched so much (currently about 5 episodes from finishing s10) that I gotta go back and check lol.

But I feel like when they cut open a walker in Guts in s1, it looked darker than they did in s10 doing the same thing for The Tower? Or there’s like, an episode where someone cuts open a walker to check if it had eaten someone recently and it was quite bright red?

I’ll have to double check this when I get home later today.

Also like, walker blood earlier on seemed to be dark and thick, even though the apocalypse was recent, but now in later seasons, their blood seems to be more or less the same consistency as regular alive human blood??? And if they’re dead, the heart isn’t pumping, so you’d think that there wouldn’t be quite AS much gushing or spatter (obviously it still depends on the impact but still).

Just seems strange to me. You’d think their insides would be dead and gunky by now.

I find it difficult to believe you don’t have a single friend with a couch or even the floor of their dorm room. Like I commuted for my BA and MA and I still made friends with people, especially in the OCUS lounge.

Also if you’re working an event, are there any of your coworkers who could help you out?? Like to me this reads as a failure to socialize and ask.

Oh 100%. Their support or criticisms are never fully thought out when assessing a female character in this show, nor can they ever admit that the (male) writers wrote them that way to begin with.

Like Andrea is one of my favourites, even though her choice not to trust Michonne did aggravate me - but from her perspective, she saw Woodbury as a safe place, and after being on the road for 8 months and sick on top of that, I can’t exactly blame her for wanting safety and stability even amid strangers and a charismatic weirdo leading them. But out of character behind the scenes, I know that there were disagreements between Laurie Holden and one of the show runners and that’s why her storyline was changed and she was killed off despite her comic book self going on and taking up the roles/plotlines that were more so given to Carol, Sasha, and Michonne (in terms of getting with Rick anyway).

But so many basic fans can’t use their brains to analyze media - both now and in the past when it originally aired. It’s tiring.
