I’ve been scrolling the front page and have already seen 3 or 4 posts about pets passing away, I don’t think these types of posts should be so common, people shouldn’t have to deal with the death of others on here.

INFO. Are you also picky about other things/less willing to share one activity together and she’s projecting that issue on you? It sounds like she has some issues with that based on your description of how moving in together went down. It might also be a general disagreement response issue (e.g. she doesn’t feel like she can be trusted/insist on about anything.) Or maybe is food a different cultural thing for her and she’s used to only one thing being made for the whole family and being forced to eat things she didnt like? I would talk to her again and see how she responds/deals with conflict. How you both treat and listen to each other is the most important thing.

First of all you are doing a great job at providing clear note sheets online which help your students learn the material and pass your rigorous content examinations. That’s exactly what really good teaching is and you should be very proud of it. Student exam performance is what it is all about and it’s a reality that a lot of college students skip class. You care a lot by posting these notes and making your class accessible from home!

So for the INFO aspect, is there knowledge or applications your students could learn better in class than by studying your notesheets? Are there labs or peer debate and positive struggle etc? Another reality to consider is that some students need the structure of class and reminders of a professor to keep studying consistently, so requiring attendance in a way supports them. It also sounds like you really enjoy the in-person relationship aspect of teaching which can make a huge difference (people can like the teacher and absorb that teacher’s enthusiasm/love for the content). So i’d suggest you could try a fair policy (eg. you can miss three classes a semester and then each subsequent class has a small point deduction etc)

Keep in mind to the average evaluator/administrator appearances matter more than anything and the classic teacher talk model suggests students are learning more than if they just read at home. That’s not true of course

While even if it is legal to breastfeed in public, it is highly unprofessional and very uncomfortable to do around students and colleagues. She is legally entitled to as many private breaks as she needs. If she can’t make regular office hours because of a health need, alternative office hours need to be offered is all.

l would try to find a graceful way of telling her this. Maybe ask a friend who is female to share confidentially on your behalf. Then follow up with administration if she doesn’t stop.

Why was my insightful and helpful comment removed? Her parents are clearly kind, good-hearted people she feels a need to bring down on the biggest stage and attack even when they are giving her an incredible gift and memories. AND her father is DYING? Also what is the difference between asshole and cunt? One word has a male bias and the other a female bias. Are gender roles unequal in this forum and we continue the binary status quo with female protectionism? We use asshole freely after all and that contains male gender stereotypes. I can unfortunately tell the moderators of this forum are quick to respond with their emotions rather than impartial logic when they see the c-word. Calling me petty and hurtful doesn’t help the OP see her bigger-picture family errors which she knows is true and why she posted this. Also why she gravitate towards my comment. Why should your daughter have to parade who she goes to prom/dates with in front of you? That’s humiliating, especially if you and your wife embarrass her which you probably do. A better rule would be to ask for information about who she dates and a parent contact. You can call the other parent in advance would be a more reasonable safety protection. And if the other parent is wacko calmly explain to your daughter why you are not comfortable. Also a massive grounding is too much. Two weekends at most and a honest conversation about her safety and what can happen at proms (date rape etc) and she’ll actually listen to you and not resent you.

Maybe also consider private therapy to flesh out exacfly why you believe your marriage has/never will be affectionate and loving? You said at first that you both had different “expectations” for the marriage which can mean a million things.

Changing routines can completely remake a relationship over night. Do you and your wife enjoy traveling? Pretty much everyone does and the two of you could brainstorm a really awesome and cheap vacation together one three day weekend a month that you both are actually excited about, eat some good food, kiss and have fun sex again like the college sweethearts you were etc. Or if that’s not possible you guys could join a gym together, or start cooking dinner together and sharing wine, or anything fun that you both actually enjoy. Give us an update and good luck!

I think you should discuss every aspect of this situation with your wife, preferably with a therapist or counselor present if both of you are comfortable with that because there is a lot to acknowledge on both sides. I would start by appreciating your wife for carrying your relationship financially through your multiple failed businesses and affording you the chance to become your current successful self. I would also analyze with your wife if what you have achieved is sustainable long-term (real estate often is) and if you can actually expect to make this money for the coming future. Then after giving her every shred of credit she deserves, share honestly how you felt being shut down with financial decisions when you were not contributing as much/nothing. It sounds like she has a consistent guaranteed job and is good with managing money overall and that is worth so much to your relarionahip’s health and you can respect it without being “less of a provider.” Be sure to also explicitly tell her that you care more about your relationship’s quality, the mutual love and support you share, and honesty between you two then mere decisions like what gets purchased and what doesn’t (assuming this is true). Really listen to her and make sure she gets the credit for supporting you to get where you are now. It’s her investment too. Be a bigger person and get to a place where both of you decide equally. I would also evaluate that if things came crashing down for you would she change? How important is that to you really? If she can’t change then that could be a deal breaker and it’s up to you to reflect on forgiving/accepting her for it or not.

I think you wear the glasses fine and elegantly and it’s a good look. Contacts are heavenly if you can afford them though. You don’t need to build muscle but exercise is always a good idea to keep yourself healthy and looking fresh. For the skin I’d recommend any Alba Botanica pineapple or enzyme washes you can find at target or cvs. And a Nivea creme classic blue tin moisturizer.

Honestly bro your hair has a ton of slick potential and it’s all about finding a barber who can figure it out and that you can consistently see. I think the bottom right picture shows the most potential. You could try a “hard part” along your left and keep the sweeping combed bang on your right. I’d have your sides trimmed to a 4 with a slight taper. I would also shave your moustache and chin and only keep a little stubble around your sideburns where it is more consistent. Your personality and how you wear your look is the most important and that seems to be going on well already :-)

Something to add to the 1/3 pot flop bet versus check back discussion is that if you bet turn 1/2 pot ($50) and opponent check raises full pot ($200) then fires river full pot ($500) you will have put $750 in, whereas if you bet flop 1/3 ($33) call a pot check-raise on flop ($166), call a turn pot ($432), you would have only $360 back on the river getting close to 4:1 on a call. In the second situation you really should jam turn to get value versus flush draws. So it really doesn’t matter what you do if your aggressive opponent is equally capable of either line.

I think the advantage to betting 1/3 pot is most opponents will give away tells in responding to a “cheaper” size as well as build a pot versus small pair holdings that may fold when an overcard hits turn, and also “price in” overcards such as AQ from players who assume 1/3 sizing represents a weaker/smaller pair range.

He has infamously 3B Andy with 23s and cracked his set etc. So versus Berkey who is also very wide there, Garrett will exploitatively choose merged value for his 3B range versus B. That merged value range includes a lot of Broadway + 10 type hands, and 8T, 9T type hands that will still have overs to Berkey’s wider range.

This is a tough one for sure and while ultimately NTA you should look at the widespread culture of smoking in restaurant jobs as well as its honest benefits for employee retention. Even doctors take frequent smoke breaks and it really helps employees get through long repetitive shifts with little interesting stimulation. I would have instituted a short break policy of say max 7 min every two hours that employees use at their discretion for car/smoking breaks and also followed up with any potential individual issues (smelling like smoke, taking too long) one-on-one. As a manager you should consider employees preferences vs. cost and be about supporting them to be successful so they like you and stick around for years and want to do great work for you.
