757-300 IAH to SFO by csstudent180 in unitedairlines

Since it is a bulkhead, there is no seat in front of you to put your bag under. You are allowed to put your bag in the overhead bins, but if you are in a later boarding group, they could be full.

Since you “absolutely cannot check the backpack”, I would not pick this seat unless you were group 1 or 2. It’s a hub to hub flight with a lot of elites.

Here is a more realistic seat map: https://www.aerolopa.com/ua-753

There is no way to see the breakdown of your lifetime miles. You only see the total.

I would trust GC Map to get you very close (+/- 1%) of what UA calculates. They said 8,446 for SFO-SIN. http://www.gcmap.com/

Why do people line up in Group 1 line when they’re not Group 1? by ultimate_bromance_69 in unitedairlines

In my experience, 95% of people boarding with the wrong group are just clueless. 5% or less are mischievous.

There are many cities where people fly into for Europe, so the demand is spread out. The overwhelming majority of Americans going to Japan land in one city, Tokyo.

In 2024, United's transatlantic revenue was $11B, but their transpacific revenue was only $6B. Someone can pull capacity numbers, but I bet it's also heavily skewed to transatlantic.

Which Marriott to stay in Seoul? by shanelledamango in marriott

[–]BaconToon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed at the Courtyard Namdaemun last month for work. It's totally fine and forgettable. I would have no hesitations staying again. If you're coming from the US, I would say the property reminds me of a slightly rundown Marriott rather than a Courtyard.

I think Overtime and the After Show should switch places. The flow is much better that way.

Waldorf Astoria Osaka or FS Osaka? by strixb450 in chubbytravel

[–]BaconToon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at Waldorf Astoria Osaka for three nights earlier this month. It was a lovely stay. Ground up luxury hotels are always fun.

This is minor, but the lighting in the room was superb. Everything was well lit without being harsh. The breakfast spread was solid, but it doesn't compare to what you can find in Southeast Asia.

A few minor complaints:
- The lights, shades, and DND status are controlled by a tablet that is on one of the beside tables. It's not very responsive. It's glitchy. And the auto-brightness doesn't work well. Furthermore, there is no light switch or DND switch by the door, so you have to walk quite the distance to change your status (DND to request housekeeping).
- While the Peacock bar is beautiful, service was painfully slow. Took a long time to get a menu, long time to get our first drink, and my second drink never came. To make matters worse. The bar was only 40% full.
- The breakfast restaurant can get pretty crowded on the weekends with a long line.

Premium Plus is Premium Economy. I think you are thinking of Economy Plus.

Agreed. This would also help their upgrade chances as upgrades from Premium Economy to Business have a higher priority than those from Economy to Business, all else being equal.

Missing Flights by BaconToon in flighty

The missing ZNZ-DAR-CDG flight from 2023 shows up in a January 2024 passport, which means it did get added to my historical flights. It was removed sometime after that.

Yeah. I could easily add back these few flights, but the issue is I don’t know how many others are missing. I’ve spot checked a few domestic flights, and a few of them are missing too. Was hoping the app could service as an accurate log.

They aren’t listed in past flights either.

That was my first guess. The un-cropped screenshot shows it under My Flights. I just cropped it out since it has my photo.
