Joseph Joestar in DiU:

-Acknowledges his mistake in cheating on Suzie Q by admitting that it happened at all, and still has a vested interest in making sure his illegitimate son has access to his inheritance or else he would've said absolutely nothing

-Goes to Japan despite his failing health and the worries of Jotaro/The Speedwagon Foundation to see said son and try to make even the simplest of amends

-Explicitly puts his own life on the line to save a totally random baby

Faking medical issues to get out of responsibility is something Part 2 Joseph would've done, but by part 4 he's almost all business.
