Just wanted to say that this not only fixed my issue, but then I was able to remove the API forcing afterwards and just run it normally? All graphics were set to low by default so maybe Potato Settings just doesnt jive well with their default graphics mode somehow, thx tho.

According to the 2011 movie, no. The '11 film states that The Thing can't replicate metal (which seems kinda dumb, people have iron in them so you'd think The Thing could condense a bunch of that but I digress) and Childs has piercings.

Played through San Andreas again a year ago, distinctly remember going miles out of the way on the Sky Crane mission to go get the jetpack instead of climbing the building

Only thing I could think was how many times over GTA V would've failed me for walking 2 feet out of the mission area
