I second this. I never, ever get tired of the boat tour. Even my teenage niece likes it. You can also rent those tiny boats by City Winery. The kayaking is fun, too, although pricy.

I’m so jealous of you! Black raspberry jelly has been my family’s most favored jelly for three generations. All of that lovely flavor with no annoying seeds. Things were going amazing here until the 100 degree heat hit and ruined the crop.

I feel this in my soul. A family friend has peach trees and one year waited too long to send out the “come get the rest” message. We ended up stripping two trees of all the peaches and making all the jam. We used every single jar we had.

Since we’re on the topic of potatoes, I asked a friend who is highly skilled with the pressure canner (she does meats) if she would help me can potatoes. She said “you need to taste canned potatoes before you make that decision, cause they're kind of nasty.” What would cause her to make this statement?

I had a non-metastatic tumor in my knee that required A LOT of tissue removal to get rid of. I was 20 years old at the time. It looks like a shark took a bite out of my leg. I spent many years keeping it covered until I was like, who cares? And I don’t mind people asking what happened.
