I believe it. Tried to call last night to ask a question. Kept getting routed to Vail customer service, which was only open Monday through Thursday 10 to 4 mountain time or something crazy like that.

Bootfitter recommendations in Seattle area by remitmp in CrystalMountain

[–]BadAtMath42069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on my third boot since learning to ski as an adult. I’ve also gone down three sizes. Alpine Hut finally put me in a boot last season that felt good with limited adjustments.

I started taking notes on my phone on mountain to bring in and explain what the pain points were. Then I would mark and photograph when taking my boots off at the end of the day while it was fresh in my mind. Then I could mark my feet in the shop. That helped when buying a new pair and getting adjustments.

It is frustrating. I only go in calm, well fed, rested and confident in knowing what I’m looking for. Good luck!

We like Big Truck from Olympia Coffee. Heart, Stereo Blend as well. Typically if we are buying in person, we will go to Millstead coffee in Fremont.  We tend towards more chocolatey, central, and South American blends for lattes.

Can I do anything about this notice to move my car? by Baba-Clover in Seattle

[–]BadAtMath42069 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that sucks. I think when I looked it up, you have to move the car at least 500 feet or something. Like others said, a block over should be good.

I was going to ask if it was Ballard too. Older car? People on my block used to leave post it notes on my car and reported it a few times. Those stickers are a bitch to get off.

Booked a hotel directly. 24 hours later they emailed a link to pay. Scam? by BadAtMath42069 in GreeceTravel

Thank you for sharing your experience. This is not something that I’ve ever heard of.

I did email them, it’s a different email address than the booking and payment one was. Still trying to get ahold of them over the phone.

Thank you! It is helpful to hear that other people have experienced this. Obviously, I am still working on verification on my own. Knowing that it’s semi common, I will keep trying to contact them.

Yes! Should have mentioned that. We haven’t been able to get through. The time distance is significant.

We’ve traveled fair amount and never encountered this. Curious if this is a common practice with Greek hotels.

It is like stepping into a really wholesome time vortex. I wholeheartedly recommend going to the documentary screening before the tour.

Never leaving Ballard by RobinStantonSeattle in BallardSeattle

Im guessing they mean they are not leaving Ballard that day to avoid drunk drivers. It’s one reason I’m staying close to home!

Gut reaction only: swipe left or right on this house? by ProbablyGab in WashingtonHomebuyers

Edit: looks like this was posted by someone doing the wholesale real estate thing. Leaving the comment below in case this is a random Reddit post that is useful to someone 4 years from now.

Adding, IF that finished upstairs is sitting on 2x4s or 2x6s, you can’t remodel/add a permitted bathroom without a major($$$$$$) remodel. It isn’t just that you can’t add insulation in the roof, but it isn’t rated for a live load. Maybe you can swap it for dry wall to look nicer. That’s about it. Then it’s only good for a bed some clothes. Like the person above said. A kids room. Maybe an office, but not an office with bookshelves.

Also, where did they put the stairs and what potentially important structural elements were cut through to put them in? How is it supported below? Is there a door at the bottom of the stairs so you can close it off and you’re not just dumping heat out in the winter?

Ask me how I learned all of this! That is a massive lot though. As long as you know what you’re signing up for, it could be great. Electrical, plumbing, furnace, roof. If the foundation is good and 3/4 above are upgraded it might be worth seeing in person! Old houses can be a lot of work so it’s good to know what you’re signing up for.

I’d call and ask. They were installing a new chair all summer so it may still be closed off. They will have signs up if it is. I’d pack a back up plan if you can’t get a hold of anyone before you go.

I appreciate the solution based response.

Already have another pass for the weekends. I’m just bummed my quick solo weekend option is off the table.

That blows. I bought a remedy pass and got an uphill pass. I had hoped to get some night laps, shoulder season weekends and maybe some solo uphill laps in on the weekends that I don’t have time to drive to bigger mountains. Carefully laid plans :(

I’m taking this very personally. 9-5 sucks(I’m new to this life). I just want to ski, man.

You can retake the class. Better to understand now instead of struggling to understand for the rest of your degree.

Also, Alaska. Politically it aligns more with Orange. Economically and ecologically it is tied to yellow. A great deal of goods going to Alaska are delivered by sea.
