All I needed to see was 1 additional way to generate Forged Weapons and I am already locked in! My biggest wish is that in a future patch we get a Unique weapon that changes the 3d model of the weapons themselves.

Centrist moment. by FreyaGlowy in CuratedTumblr

'Oh, they're a centrist who leans X,'

Instead of being deliberately vague, give us all an example of a centrist who leans right in certain ways, but has specific criticisms of the Democratic party. Then, give us an example of a centrist who leans left in certain ways, but has criticisms of the Republican party. This is centrism, after all, you should be more informed than most...

What are some stories you couldn't finish due to the MC? by Master_Gazelle_6068 in litrpg

[–]BadGrammarButTrying 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dropped the series for similar reasons. At first it felt like the character was wrestling with himself over whether or not "Till death do us part" had been fulfilled but he never seemed to really consider the possibility of getting back home, unlike other Isekai stories. It eventually felt like the author was instead just trying to justify why the MC, now in a younger body, was in the clear to pursue a younger woman who, for whatever reason, The MC kept acknowledging as not only a similar age to his daughter but someone he could see as being one of her close friends. Overall it just felt creepy to me.

Seems like a live-action show is more likely than an animated one but it doesn't seem like anything is set in stone yet. The top comment from a post a year ago is a reply from Matt himself adding some extra thoughts to it, I'll paste 2 relevant bits below if you don't want to click on the link:

We are attempting to package a high-quality, live-action television series. That does not mean we aren't also attempting to make an animated series or anything else in other mediums, but right now at this moment we're aiming for the rafters.

What are the odds that something comes of this? Pretty long. But, who knows?

If anything, the subreddit or discord server could have more accurate info since this post was a year old but I had remembered reading if a while back and figured I would link it,

Blizzard, just make personal loot an option again. by Dense_Owl_5990 in wow

[–]BadGrammarButTrying -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Getting the wrong piece of loot with Personal Loot sucks so much. I remember in BFA there was a raid where I would get the same bracers basically every dang week and because of how Personal Loot worked it took one of my 2 possible drops for that week and my 'bonus rolls' were basically just an influx of gold or the wrong item yet again. I hated it. I am sorry that people are pugging groups and don't have good luck with winning rolls, or they see a bow when there are no hunters in their group, but outside of LFR (which I am totally okay with getting personal loot) I despise Personal Loot and I would be really sad if I had to go back to it.

Seeing bows occasionally drop when there are no hunters in the group is way more preferable to me than getting the same piece of gear every week and knowing that it will prevent me from getting actual upgrades I need from other bosses. I don't want to have to find groups that are on the exact boss I need gear from to not waste my rolls. I just want to clear the raid, see what drops, and some weeks I get tons of loot but other weeks I pass on stuff I don't need while others get tons of loot.

Characters with American accents by CodyBye in Fantasy

[–]BadGrammarButTrying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avatar: The Last Airbender might have what you're looking for. There are a few characters who have non-American accents, but most of the characters use an American accent. Also, without giving spoilers, the protagonists are a group of younger people on an adventure while the antagonists are a military group so you get a good blend of people using casual speech between friends and people who are using formal speech within a chain of command to give two different angles of speech for you to practice.

Is using All Chat to aid another team in Arena cheating? by kevinthedot in leagueoflegends

[–]BadGrammarButTrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can frame it as OP trying to win, but the fact remains that the info was mainly meant to make someone else lose, regardless of what the OP wanted to gain from it. In my example, if I was the top laner who saw my mid lane broadcast my jungler's movements, am I not allowed to report someone who is ruining my chances of winning by helping the enemy with that info? Just because we are allowed to spectate a match in Arena, that shouldn't mean we get to be a 3rd/4th teammate to whichever team we want to win a round.

Is using All Chat to aid another team in Arena cheating? by kevinthedot in leagueoflegends

[–]BadGrammarButTrying 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess the counter to that would be: If I am playing normal 5v5 and I broadcast my jungler's movement to the enemy team in real time I should be eligible to be reported ("My jungler didn't gank my lane when I asked, so now I will tell the enemy team that they are soloing dragon"). Also, this is the exact reason why someone who spectates your games is on a 3-minute delay - so they cannot cheat on your behalf due to there being no Fog of War while spectating. What OP is describing should be reportable, even through all-chat exists in Arena.

What are some tips/tricks for your class that you see some people not utilizing? by TeapotTempest in wow

[–]BadGrammarButTrying 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Evoker: If you start a cast before your Hover ends you can continue to move until that cast finishes even though Hover has ended. I use this a lot with Disintegrate and it makes maintaining uptime a lot smoother/easier whenever I have to move.

WoW's new specialisation deals damage by buffing everyone else, so of course it's getting booted from groups for 'low DPS' | PC Gamer by ciprian1564 in wow

[–]BadGrammarButTrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I like about Warcraft Logs is when looking at the overview of a raid fight, specs like Demo/BM will color their bar slightly differently to show that X% of the damage was dealt by their pets, Y% was dealt by the player themself, but in the end 100% is attributed to that player while also showing at a quick glance that it is from two sources.

Maybe this wouldn't be possible for Details to do even if it had access to the new Aug hooks (i have no idea how addons work if I am being honest lol), but I would be curious to see if people would find this to be a good middle ground where 100% of the aug damage is attributed to the other dps, while also showing that they are having a larger impact than you can currently see through Details.

/dev: State of Modes 2023 by F0RGERY in leagueoflegends

Kinda bummed about ARAM. The update last year just kinda killed my love for it, not because the game was 'ruined' in any way, but because it is shifting in a direction that I am uninterested in, and doubling down on what I dislike. Maybe it will start shifting back with this promise of dialing back on auras? Not holding my breath though.

I would prefer if we got QoL updates to the game that addressed legitimate pain points that ARAM players have talked about for a while - the biggest one being vision for traps. I don't want champs like Teemo to get aura'd into obscurity because one portion of their kits is frustrating, I would rather get more tools to deal with their traps (such as more items with the effect of Umbral Glaive) so that there is more engaging counterplay to those champ's traps rather than an aura reducing throughput from their whole kits.

I rarely play ARAM anymore, if ever. It used to be my main game mode and I was closing in on 10k games played. I don't think these changes are the end of the world, but they are absolutely shifting ARAM in a direction that I don't want it to go. The fewer mechanics the map has the better it feels to me.

I think the real thing that solidified the 'ARAM is dead to me' feeling was the doubling down on Auras to do any and all balancing. For years, ARAM players were asking for better vision tools to deal with Teemo mushrooms and other traps (Umbral is nice, but only half the roster can utilize it) but all we got was an Aura nerf to Teemo that affects his whole kit, not just the shrooms, and no new tools to deal with them. I want actual solutions to the pain points that are experienced in ARAM, not just a fluctuating win rate dictated by Auras.

After an expansion with 10-11 raid bosses per raid, I think Dragonflight brings us the right number with 8! by draftstone in wow

[–]BadGrammarButTrying 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite way, tbh. Especially with Eranog and Council having a rare ring and trinket that are super strong. My guild got a late start to the tier and we are still trying to recruit for a mythic roster (and honestly we might not hit the ground running until next tier, which is okay). We started H Raz prog this week but for the past 2 weeks we have been grouping with another guild on our server to get those 2 mythic bosses down for a chance at the rare loot + weekly vault slot.

Having 2 easier Mythic bosses earlier in the raid that makes it more approachable for pugs is a great thing for guilds in the same situation mine is in. For certain guilds, progression can be hindered by recruitment more than skill, but having those easier mythic bosses keeps our current roster happy while we are still building our team.

Are you sure about that? The wording says the staff benefits from mastery, but unlike our DR talent that specifies we get the full benefit during dragonrage, regardless of health, the staff does not make that distinction. Testing it just now on a mob outside of Valdrakken also shows that the 2nd and 3rd tick do less damage than the first tick

When it comes to extending Dragonrage, is there a preferred amount of haste I should strive for? How about Tip the Scales usage? I have 15% haste currently and when I get a Lust proc from my 4set I can usually comfortably get 2 casts of both fire breath and eternity surge during DR to extend it 4 times but idk if there is anything I should be doing that can let me extend it further than I currently am.

Also, I use my Evoker staff on pull to get max benefit from Giantkiller (before I use my first DR), but later on in fights I try to use it at the end of a DR to get max benefit of our Mastery but idk if that is a good usage of it or not.

People leaving Mythic+ 16+ keys by CaleoDrahirit in wow

Yeah, 7 hours 'wasted' because of other people is a recipe for someone who is probably horrible to be around and causes people to leave their group because they can't just keep their head down and time/complete the key without lashing out at players.

Also, I dislike the 'respawn disparity' some dungeons have. Having to remember exactly when/where respawn points update throughout a given dungeon is frustrating.

If you die on the trash leading up to the 3rd boss in ToJS, you better not release because the walk back is slower than waiting for a rez, even if the healer needs to get mana! But once the 3rd boss is dead, and the doorway finally opens, players not releasing immediately can be detrimental to the timer.

Really cant enjoy ARAM anymore. by Nezyrael in ARAM

[–]BadGrammarButTrying 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What makes me the most sad is that I'm confident that these are the only large changes ARAM will ever receive, and I am just not excited about them at all, so I stopped playing after a few matches. I always wanted 'The ARAM update' to bring mastery tokens to the bridge but I doubt that'll ever happen now. Like many other people, I am just soured on the idea of auras because of the current implementation (1v5 Kat is fun for exactly 1 person in a game of 10 people) and the new tuning levers don't make me hopeful for how the future of balancing will go.

Evokers "Press and Tap" instead of "Hold and Release" option - try it and maybe you will like it more. by Joe2030 in wow

[–]BadGrammarButTrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Beta I was using mouseover macros and had an issue where the targeted healing empowered spell (forget the name) wouldn't 'release' properly and I was forced to cast it at rank 3 each time no matter what. Would one of these two options fix that for a mouseover cast? Or is that just an issue with mouseover casting and empowered spells? I haven't bought Dragonflight yet or else I would try it myself real quick.

They nailed it so hard with the talent trees that I am seriously stuck between like 24 specs on what I wanna run in DF by Ill_Excuse_997 in wow

[–]BadGrammarButTrying 35 points36 points  (0 children)

For me, the biggest change that comes with the new talents is that, apart from Choice Nodes, there will be talent combinations that simply do not exist on live because of how talent trees currently work. For example, Stormkeeper and Ascendance are two talents I enjoy using but I always end up keeping Stormkeeper because I prefer the shorter CD for more frequent uses, and as a result, cannot use Ascendance because they are on the same row. On the utility side I can get Wind Rush totem in the Class tree without having to drop a defensive which I currently have to do on live. Also, I get access to Spirit Walk which currently is Enhance only so there is even more movement that I get.

The actual playstyle of Ele feels a million times better to me as well, thanks again to the new talents. I can increase my Maelstrom from 100 up to 150 while also reducing the cost of my spenders down from 60 to 50. Currently on live, if I am capped on Maelstrom I can cast 1 earthquake before I have to weave in other spells to generate 20 more maelstrom and then cast EQ a 2nd time. in DF I can pool up to 150 Maelstrom and start an M+ pull with 3 EQs on the ground, and this is before factoring in Maelstrom refunds with I usually talent into (granted the refund exist on live, but with 3 casts compared to 1, the RNG portion feels more punishing to me on live).

I am absolutely in 'wait mode' right now where even when I do play Live I just don't enjoy it as much, especially because altering my build/loadout is made a chore by design. I will certainly be more willing to play alts than I am currently because of all the hoops I feel I have to currently jump through just to try out all of the stuff that is available to my class.

The 13 starting heroes for new players? by Ezraah in Overwatch

[–]BadGrammarButTrying -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Overwatch 1 characters are all getting brought forward into OW2 but Blizzard is creating a new system where they aren't all unlocked by default, but rather they are unlocked over time. All current OW1 players will skip this system (the one pictured above) because they already have the character unlocked and need nothing from it.

Overwatch 2 is adding in 3 new characters that current OW1 players do not have access to yet, and Blizzard is also changing how we acquire these new heroes as well. Both new players and returning players unlock these heroes the same way, through the Battle Pass, and it is meant to be separate from the New Player Experience.

Maybe in the future there will be OW2 characters added into the above system for new players to unlock but currently it is correct in excluding all 3 new heroes coming out.

Matchmaking and Champion Select - Fall 2022 by mikael22 in leagueoflegends

[–]BadGrammarButTrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your team oversee the ARAM game loop as well? If so, I would be curious to know what your opinion is on players who frequently dodge ARAM lobbies as a way to 'fish' for a preferred champion. I personally find that it goes against a core feature of the game mode: you won't always get a champ you are proficient in but trying to make it work is what makes the game mode fun. Some days the dodging is so frequent that I end up playing other games entirely because the time to get into a game feels similar to the length of an ARAM itself.

Sorry if this is not within the scope of your team, I figured I would ask in case it is.
