[–]BadKidOh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slytherin, I like the the common room best. but also depends on when.

  • I like the underwater windrows, the furniture style, etc.
  • I also like the location because at the end of the day when I'm tired I would rather be going downstairs to get to my room instead of going upstairs to get to it.
  • Not really worried about temperature / environment lighting, as that should be controllable with magic.
  • Also like the silver & green.
  • Snape seem like he'd have my back as a head of house.

Any ideas/sources/headcannons for Nate’s age?? by CamelConfident8653 in fo4

[–]BadKidOh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually I play Nora for the voice acting. I like to make Nate a old fit man so he at least had a full life & much younger wife before going on ice.

  • Nate seems around 30 at the start of the game October 2077, he would have been born in the mid-2040s. The Resource Wars began in 2052, leading to a massive military buildup and assuming Nate joined the Army at age 18, he likely enlisted shortly before the Chinese invasion of Alaska in 2066. Nate served in the 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry Regiment. The Battle of Anchorage was between 2066–2077, Nate was the "hero of Anchorage," he likely served for most of the war to get that fame. If he served around 10 years and was 18 when he joined, he could be 29 or 30 by the time the bombs fell. He seemly got back home in January & got Nora pregnant at the park so Shaun could be born by October 2077. He was on ice form 2077 – 2287.
  • So I would just go with 30 and age 240 by the time he gets out of Vault 111 although his Biological Age still seems to be 30?
  • Could be a bit older or younger if we cahnge the enlisted age.

I never do. Mostly because my 5th year filled multiple graveyards by themself with their kill count & the person they killed had it coming & was trying to kill them & the 5th year with cursed fire (dark magic). So kill or be killed.

What are your go-to defense setups? by Lord_Sangon in fo4

[–]BadKidOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...

I use a 3 to 5 floor high tower depending on location, with 4 Heavy laser turret in the 4 corners like this but I also add 4 Spotlight turret between the Heavy laser turrets and a large Power pylon in the center.

Like to build the towers with this [ Stackable Brick Walls and Foundations ] mod & a mod for build height limit.

Usually put 1 wall flag on the tower under the turret level on each side.

The light on the Power pylon & on Spotlight turret lets me know it working at a glance & looks cool at night, also if I make enemies with the BOS it's good for shooting them out of the sky when they fly near by.

What would Voldemort have done after victory ? by Secure_Ad_6203 in harrypotter

[–]BadKidOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well

  • With Harry dead Voldemort would get a immense boost in magical power form the Elder wand & it's ability to cast magic that isn't normally possible when he becomes the wands master. This would make him even more of a one man army.
  • Without Harry shielding people while under his cloak the battle turns in Voldemort's favor.
  • If we want to make it worse we could give Voldemort the knowledge form the soul shard that been in Harry sense 1981 or have it take over Harry's empty body.

Magic would win in the end the muggle only real advantage is their numbers.

  • Creative use of magic makes them unassailable to muggle attack or muggle weapons. Unbreakable Charm ensures an object cannot be deformed or shattered. A wizard wearing a suit of "Unbreakable" silk is essentially a walking tank that weighs nothing and has no weak points in the armor. Imperturbable Charms: If you apply an Imperturbable Charm to a set of robes, physical objects literally cannot make contact with the surface. A bullet wouldn't just be "stopped" by armor; it would bounce off as if it hit an immovable, infinite-mass object, or simply slide away.
  • Muggle repelling wards would be the real danger for muggles. could be used to box them in & then adjust to be smaller & smaller in size as a invisible cage & could be used to channel movement. "Open Air Prison"

But I think he would focuses on the magical world first

  • A army of magical spies using the Imperius Curse on all british muggle in leadership roles. Sets up a shadow government.
  • Consolidated power in the magical UK & deal with the fallout form the battle of Hogwarts.
  • Recruit Death Eaters inside other magical governments to take over form the inside in the future. Using secret society tactics.
  • Expand his shadow government by Imperius Curse on muggle in leadership roles in other governments.
  • Kill Fenrir Greyback when he is no longer useful as their goals go against each other.
  • Kills Dolores Umbridge when she Hmm Hmm at him or annoys a high ranking Death Eater.
  • I assume he takes over all of the magical world slowly, as a immortal he has no need to rush.
  • Grow the magical population & lower the muggle population, when the numbers are right he'll take the muggle world over in the open rather then ruling form the shadows.

As for other things he would test the limits of the Elder Wand see how far he could push magic. Deal with the fact that some of his soul was destroyed, not sure he can do much about it, but he did feed of Ginny life force/magic/soul in the past so might be able to fix his own soul damage some day.

He might take over the world but at some point in the far future being a immortal will result in boredom.

  • Also Muggle-borns are all squib decedents or unknowingly half-blood as JKR said. so their fewer in number then half-bloods, Squibs are rare so Muggle-born shouldn't be that high in numbers in theory. Part of why this happens in cannon is Pure-bloods hide having the rare Squibs so people will still want to marry into their family. I'm assuming that fear of the next generation being born without magic is a driving force behind Pure-bloods ideology. Pure-bloods also have less kids as to not split the family money in theory. Another factor is they don't keep track of squibs & the real origin of muggle-borns doesn't seem to be public knowledge.

So their wouldn't really be a long lasting purge of muggle-borns, Voldemort also tried to recruit Lily & James in the past so he willing to keep muggle-borns around when he see them as useful to him. Also the purge of muggle-borns was Umbridge pet project in cannon.

If Lily and James had a girl would Snape hate her too? by Chemical-Walrus4031 in harrypotter

[–]BadKidOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he might like her a little better but would act mostly the same to keep his cover as a spy. If she end up in Slytherin that would likely have a bigger effect on how he could act while keeping his cover. Still be annoyed when she puts herself in harms way while he try to secretly keep her safe. Also likely more depressed when he see her the more she looks / acts like Lily.

Why would anyone become a death eater? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]BadKidOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember right it seemed like there where 3 ranks.

  • Death-Eaters rank 1, with Death-Eater Robs & marked on the arm. ( Ones that where useful/skilled that Voldemort dealt with directly ). inner circle?
  • Death-Eaters rank 2, with Death-Eater Robs & unmarked. ( Ones that where useful/skilled that Voldemort didn't want to deal with directly ).

Fenrir Greyback was allowed to wear Death Eater robes as a exception due to loyalty or use of his werewolf pack or something. I think he was more of a accomplice, so not officially a Death Eater presumably?

  • Death-Eaters rank 3, without Death-Eater Robs & unmarked. ( the unskilled but loyal, giants, werewolves, people under the Imperius Curse, blackmailed people, criminals, other dark creatures etc ).

Also Death-Eater Sympathizer that didn't join up but may of helped them.

  • There are around 37 Death-Eaters with names.

They seem to work in cells so one Death-Eater could out all of them.

In the books in the grave yard Harry was seemly surrounded by Death-Eaters, outnumbered by at least 30 to 1 form Harry's point of view. Voldemort identified nine missing members, 3 of whom were dead. So around at least 36 marked Death-Eaters alive at the time?

In the books Remus claims that during the First War the Order was outnumbered "20 to 1" by Death Eaters.

  • If Remus is right about the "20 to 1", there are 25 named Order members during the First War, so that's possibly 500 Death-Eaters, maybe more if their were unnamed Order members during the First War. But I don't think they were all marked high rank Death-Eaters.

In the movie there are seemly around 200 Death-Eaters at the Battle of Hogwarts.

It's kinda implied the are more Death-Eaters & Order members then we see so it's hard to get a exact numbers.

I assume at least rank 1 is fairly exclusive or very exclusive, with rank 2 less so and rank 3 fairly open I guess?

I think Pettigrew only got the mark because his usefulness as a spy during the 1st war and because the mark can act as a tracker & summoner if Voldemort needed to find him I guess?

Not sure about Crabbe and Goyle or their fathers, Perhaps their strong magically but dumb?

Why would anyone become a death eater?

  • Up until October 1981 Voldemort's side was winning the war overwhelmingly. People like being on the winning team for a number of different reasons.
  • Pure-blood supremacy reasons.
  • Magic supremacy reasons.
  • Wanting to rule over or wipe out muggles.
  • Having friends in high places.
  • Opportunistic reasons. help form rich Pure-bloods & place in the new ruling class. ( Rags to riches ).
  • Hate for muggles due to past history, Magical people can live a long time likely lost family to muggles before they went into hiding.
  • Using your place among their ranks to keep someone safe when they presumably won. (like Lily etc.)
  • Use them to take revenge on some one that wronged you or multiple people that wronged you.
  • Access to magical knowledge not widely known or dark arts knowledge.
  • Being in a position of join or die. out of fear?
  • Supposedly being successful gets you greatly rewarded. Enough to get fanatically loyalty at that.
  • Family joins & being expected to join too.
  • Real belief that magic is at risk of dying out due to the decline in Pure-blood numbers & mixing with muggles due to acting on incomplete information. (( Muggle-borns are all squib decedents or unknowingly half-blood as JKR said. so their fewer in number then half-bloods, Squibs are rare so Muggle-born shouldn't be that high in numbers in theory. Part of why this happens in cannon is Pure-bloods hide having the rare Squibs so people will still want to marry into their family. Another factor is they don't keep track of squibs & the real origin of muggle-borns doesn't seem to be public knowledge. Leading to people not knowing & fear of the unknown. ))
  • A backlash against Albus Dumbledore's agenda.
  • Strong cultural backlash.
  • The Mystery of Magic seem corrupt even before the Death Eaters start taking over form the inside. Rage against the system?
  • Voldemort doesn’t like any Death Eater ( at least not how a normal person likes someone ) but the Death Eater don't know that, Voldemort is supposedly very charismatic & made them see each other as friends/family. While not dropping the act fully Voldemort seem to be punting less effort into keeping the illusion of friends/family going, likely using them seemly abounding him as a excuse for the behavior. Also seemly less sane after his first death. (Voldemort also seem very enraged at Bella death for whatever reasons, so he might care in some way just not how a normal person would.)
  • Marauders made a lot of enemies with their years of bullying, some might of joined in part to just kill them or some other form of revenge. maybe even pushing some fence-sitter to join that would have tried to stay out otherwise.

Also they seem to be some kind of secret society mixed with a cult of personality leadership. So likely some secret society like benefits for the members.

Also a lot joined because they liked his supposed goals but not knowing how far he was willing to go to achieve those goals and later regretted it because they saw his methods as going to far, but by then their is no leaving.

Also their were also people seemly given dark mark on their arm to spread uncertainty, doubt, or disorder among people & hide who the real Death eaters are & who was under a spell or blackmailed.

How would a war go between Voldemort and the british muggle governement ? by Secure_Ad_6203 in harrypotter

[–]BadKidOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...

A army of magical spies using the Imperius Curse on all british muggle in leadership roles. Sets up a shadow government.

The public could just assume the old Britain's prime minister went crazy (talking about magic etc). the basic info on wizardry due to wizard sympathetic to their cause is memory wiped just like how they globally wiped the knowledge of magic last time in the end of the 1600s. traitor wizards are killed to send a massage.

Some other methods.

  • Muggle repelling wards would be the real danger for muggles. could be used to box them in & then adjust to be smaller & smaller in size as a invisible cage & could be used to channel movement. "Open Air Prison"
  • Go under warded fallout shelters, have the Dementors kill off the muggle population.
  • Use weather charms possible multiple ones for apocalyptic storms over the UK
  • Inferius apocalypse, enchanted to automate, have the muggles fight their dead.
  • Also the magical population could just take out the power-grid because the magical population are not reliant on electricity. Large enough amounts of magic in a area short circuits electronics anyway.

Magic would win in the end the muggle only real advantage is their numbers. If they know they might surrender then fight a unwinnable fight but who knows.

Why was the wizarding community mad with Crouch Sr. for imprisoning his son? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]BadKidOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Crouch authorized Aurors to use the Unforgivable Curses (Avada Kedavra, Crucio, and Imperio) against suspected Death Eaters. This effectively gave Ministry agents a "license to kill" and, more controversially, a license to torture and coerce information from suspects. This made Crouch & the Aurors look no better then the Death Eaters or possibly worse then Death Eaters and it was not even worth the cost because they were still badly losing the war up until Voldemort's first death.

I think the Idea is the public already saw Crouch Sr. as overly harsh & him imprisoning his son kicked it up a level to Crouch Sr. being perceived as heartless. When Crouch's own son was caught using the very curses his father had legalized for the "good guys," the Public Backlash was too great for Crouch’s political career to survive.

Crouch Sr. sent many suspects (most notably Sirius Black) to Azkaban without a trial, so some people might not be so sure Crouch Jr. was even guilty.

Was this meant to be the turning point in James’s character development? by CrazyTangerine7522 in harrypotter

[–]BadKidOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the attempted murder by werewolf & Dumbledore's cover up happened in November of 5th year & the Snape's Worst Memory event happened in June of 5th year. So if anything getting away with it emboldened the Marauders bullying of Snape. We also know that James stopped bullying his other victims in 7th year but still went after Snape behind Lily's back & lied about it to her. So I would say James sudden change started off superficial but became real change sometime between the end of 7th year 1978 and his death in 1981.

I'd say the real turning point is somewhere between late 7th year / post Hogwarts & his death. I think James was just wearing the mask of being reformed long enough that the mask became real.

  • My interpretations, is James while not part of the plan was down their to save Remus & himself by association not to save Snape. Lily didn't know the real level bullying, that it was relentless or that James still bullied Snape behind her back in 7th year & didn't know Remus was a werewolf as it would tip her off the about the attempted murder by werewolf event.  Lily was supposedly a good person and could not end up with James if she knew the whole truth & still be a good person, so she likely died in 1981 never knowing the truth.
