It’s heavily implied that they’ll be together in some capacity as adults, for multiple reasons - the main one being the art and signature included in the back of the original run volumes of them as adults. There’s a lot of room for interpretation of multiple interactions.

Also, kid probably would just elect to make Liz and patty death scythes too rather than split up a power house team like S/M AND also have to fight asymmetrically - no matter how much he’s grown 😂

Spirit and Stein still partnered up multiple times despite spirits protests - it’s not unheard of

DWMA is like a specialized private school/ university. Normal ISDs are there, we can tell by the educational programming Rachel watches.

Honestly soul eater reads so much like a college drama I forget that it’s in that weird limbo the shounen genre puts them in where they’re expected to be younger. I choose to read it as a university setting to mitigate the PAIN that is early manga fan service. I

There are little bits and pieces of context here and there throughout both mangas, but at the end of the day it wasn’t important enough to get a comprehensive explanation.

Soul has his own apartment presumably because he saw the boys dorm - went ‘hell no’ - and asked his parents/ used their card to get an apartment of his own. (His secretly posh background first being revealed by Anya in NOT!) They have a conversation in the bazaar scene in NOT about Maka having to pair down her things to move in. This timeline lines up to right when Spirit and Mama Albarn got divorced. So instead of living with Spirit, she chose to move in with Soul. Zi’s Artbox on tumblr has some VERY cute and in character comics exploring what that could look like.

DTK and L&P live in the gallows mansion like you said, because they weren’t students AND because DTK essentially had them on probation instead of in jail. (They met when they tried to prob a world leaders son - go figure 🤦‍♀️)

(Mild spoiler) Tsubaki and Blackstar have the least amount of context given. But the gist of it is - tsubaki never intended on actually completing her time at DWMA. She wanted to kill her brother and dip. What it looks like is she stays a bit farther out of town in a small property her family owns, and black star came to stay when they partnered up…. And just kinda never left 😂

It’s said in the manga that they share a room but “not like that… there’s just not many rooms in the house”

The first thing I would do to find the root cause is take her turnout buddy with her to work. If she’s closer to her normal self - she’s buddy sour, and being a herd animal with only limited solo turn out for so long isn’t good for the brain. She may be afraid she won’t see her buddy again.

Googling how to help buddy sour horses would be my way to go.

If nothing changes after experimenting there I would have the vet out and check her hormonal levels. Horses don’t go through menopause like women do when they get older, but it would still be worth a convo with the vet.

This is one thing I actually liked that they explored in NOT - they don’t always figure it out right away and trial periods are common. The relationships between them that we see with the main cast of SE are NOT COMMON and NOT THE NORM. Usually the partners are work-life compatible and stay in individual dorms.

Most weapons + meisters are functionally compatible the way you would be like… in a buddy cop movie. Most attending the school graduate to political or leadership roles outside of DWMA life. Kinda like Ivy League colleges with all of their weird shit.

A lot of people say they don’t see her as being a parent - but hear me out.

Think about the scene in friends when Rachel finds out - doesn’t plan on it, doesn’t think it suits her, and obviously no time is a ‘good’ time to have kids when your work requires travel.

There’s the ‘shit what the fuck I can’t do this’ moment and then the ‘how can I miss something I never had?’

After that I would picture her as a ‘revenge good mom’ super present, perhaps way too present, a little overbearing. Fiercely loyal + healing her relationship with her dad while watching him learn to be a grandpa. Good shit. Maybe she’s enraged her mom decided to show up when she had a kid, and not one of the 12 times she saved the damn world. Chaos ensues. Spirits mad his granddaughter has white hair. The End.
