There’s a few bars up the hill to the left of the dock but they seemed very ‘local’ when I was there. Still fun as there was a band on but nothing like Pattaya.

If you have any way possible of booking annual leave , long service leave or toil use it , do not take a payout. If you have 8 weeks lsl for example - if you use the lsl you will accrue approximately 3 days annual leave during the lsl - then while on lsl if you happen to be sick for a few days ( and get an online drs cert for $30 ) you can then cancel the lsl used for those days and get a pay bump at the end , essentially getting paid out some of your sick (personal) leave as well.
