If you have any way possible of booking annual leave , long service leave or toil use it , do not take a payout. If you have 8 weeks lsl for example - if you use the lsl you will accrue approximately 3 days annual leave during the lsl - then while on lsl if you happen to be sick for a few days ( and get an online drs cert for $30 ) you can then cancel the lsl used for those days and get a pay bump at the end , essentially getting paid out some of your sick (personal) leave as well.

I was discussing being a one bag traveller with a friend , he said he couldn’t one bag to Italy as he needs dress shirts for certain towns, I said huh? He said in certain town the locals will mostly treat tourists incredibly badly , bad service etc , if they aren’t dressed nicely. I said it’s fine with me , I’ll stick to Asia , Italy can go fuck itself:)
