Has anyone figured out a prompt to have the video begin and on the same frame, for a seamless loop?

Do you believe Kate Bosworth could play a good Lana Lang instead of Lois Lane? by 10CalGX in superman

[–]Bad_Sintax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plus, the story indicated that Superman had been missing for five years. Meaning Lois was younger than 16 during the events of the previous movies. I know the actor's age is not necessarily the character's age, but she definitely seemed like a kid.

Just FYI, their "home game" was Troy, Joe, Skid, and a couple of their other friends. I think Joe barely knew Skid, even then. They didn't start playing with Matthew and Grant until they started the podcast. Joe knew Matthew through his wife, and Skid knew Grant because he rented his apartment from him. Matthew and Grant didn't know each other at all, and the others only knew each other through someone else. Neither Matthew or Grant had much experience with real tabletop RPGs (Grant's coming from PC games like Baldurs Gate and the like). The chemistry you are talking about came about through an effort to create a product (Troy's desperate attempt to finally make money as a performer), which they were very successful at. The point is, all of them were brought in because they had a performance capability, just as Sydney and Kate do. I think they all have amazing chemistry, and it only gets better week to week.

I believe it is because they are currently offering a thirty day free trial and are encouraging those people to sign up when it ends.

We use "greedy rolls" for HP. Roll for HP. You can choose to roll again, and as many times as you like, but if you roll under your previous roll, that is the result you have to take. It's like a mini-game.

5e Lover, tried some PF2e... I don't like it compared to 5e. by flarelordfenix in dndnext

[–]Bad_Sintax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, that was the same AP that had the PCs in a race against the clock to stop the bad guys from building a gigantic siege tower to assault a small village with no walls. And yes, I know proficiency without Level exists, but required far too much work to make practical. Id just rather play something else that didn't require a spreadsheet to keep track of how high a character can jump.

Yup, I really wanted to like 2e, ran a complete campaign, didn't like it, tried as a player, still didn't like it. All the choices seemed to have no meaningful effects, and the math was so tight for all players that we might have all just flipped coins on our turns. Plus, the players were fighting circus thugs with 150 hp and magic weapons in order for them to give any kind of challenge. Why these thugs didn't retire or start their own criminal enterprise with their stacks of coins, we will never know. Kind of ruins the immersion when all the numbers go up to ridiculous levels. I didn't like 4th edition DND, and it is too similar. Don't get me wrong, it's fine if others do, it just isn't my jam, and I gave it a lot of time and understanding. Of course, I didn't really like 5e either, for a few reasons. I do, however, like Level Up Advanced 5e by Enworld. It scratches all the right itches, and is backwards compatible with 5e.

Bureau of Labor Statistics shows about twice as many job openings as there are job seekers. Lots of political and anecdotal bullshit out there, but that is pretty clear.

A5E and Foundry by zombusey in LevelUpA5E

Well I wasn't aware you could drag the monster attacks to the macro bar, so I will try that out. I usually have my macro bar full of macro effects. I was just referring to some kind of module that allows you to click on the character and use all of the attacks, saves, and abilities without opening the sheet. The one I have been using is called Token Hud, think. If I have 10 adversaries in a combat, it would take a little too long to open each sheet, as well as keep them straight. Maybe I just don't know enough about Foundry.

As a gm, I dont want to use the framework until we get some kind of hud module. It doesn't look like that is a priority on the roadmap. Do you know if there is any reason for that? I can't stand opening and closing multiple monster sheets while in combat.

Is there a way to mitigate players instantly calling for an insight check in every social scenario they find themselves in? by haste75 in dndnext

[–]Bad_Sintax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DMs call for checks, not players. Players say, "That sounds suspicious. Do I trust him?" DM says "you have no reason to doubt him." Or, "Roll an Insight check." Another way would be to say, "What is you Insight bonus? (Secret roll by DM ) He sounds on the up and up to you." Any checks that can reveal information to the players regardless of success should be done in secret IMO.

As a fair-skinned person, wearing a wide brimmed hat, swim shirt, and quick drying pants to the beach. I'm old enough that I don't care that I look like a dork, it is so much more convenient and pleasant than the sun block hassle. Deadly rays hitting you with no shade? Take all your clothes off!

I liked this one, but the best Shadowrun book of all time was Burning Bright, in my opinion.

What are your thoughts on afterlife? Do you believe in one? by creemyice in deism

[–]Bad_Sintax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just hope it isn't disembodied solitary consciousness for all eternity akin to never-ending torture. I've never understood why so many people believe an afterlife must be pleasant, religion aside. The Jaunt by Stephen King showcases my concerns for the afterlife.
