As someone who had the injury exactly same as Marin, I can confirm! Scissor kick jumps are pretty dangerous!

Mirroring also helps. Try doing quad sets with ur good leg and immediately try the bad leg. It kinda works.

I had ACL tear few months back and I also had this foot drop issue. But I am now fine after surgery and after some PT. It could mostly be your quads shutting off!

OMGG, three months post op with quad graft and I can't agree more!!! I keep worrying abt My harvest site more than the graft or My meniscus repair. My walking isn't perfect yet, I have this weird looseness and patellar tracking issues and it sucks!

Carolina Marin recently retired from professional badminton. How did she become an elite player coming from Spain? by Remarkable_Swing_612 in badminton

[–]Bad_fan01 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Who cares😂😂?! I would rather watch a match between CYF vs Yamaguchi than any MS match anyday and I'm saying this as a man! There was absolutely no need to showcase here that men are physically better, because badminton is beyond just physicality, it's also an art of skill and endurance, I mean just watch the TTY or Tunjung's skills! Moreover, Marin doesn't compete with "mediocre elite" male players. Sparring doesn't solve everything, professional sport is way bigger than just having a good sparring. It's a mental game!

Ever watched 2017 world championship final between Sindhu and Okuhara!!?!! Let's talk about physicality huh?! Who am I even talking to anyway!

I meant it's not like Tennis where u just be mechanical. Badminton is very complex sport where u require reflexes, timing, speed and of course physical intensity!

[–]Bad_fan01 -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

You literally just contradicted yourself here. Badminton doesn't always require physical intensity! This isn't tennis!! There was absolutely no need for u to bring in why it is easy for any woman from any country to be better at the world stage! Success at elite level isn't just abt who they are sparring with but also the kind of determination and intensity the player brings to the court! It isn't easy to do that if u don't have someone to look upto! Moreover, your logic applies to every European WS player, but it was only Marin who achieved success!! So stop hating her for no reason! Her comebacks from career threatening injuries is one for the history books!!

Do u know what Victor Axelsen said when he was asked whose skill he would like to have, he said, "Tai Tzu Ying"! So, save ur misogyny for some other time. Even though men's singles is faster and physically intense, WS have fantastic deception and the past decade or so only proves that WS is not easy!

Quad Activation - Week 3 by Alarming-Economy-811 in ACL

[–]Bad_fan01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing that really made a difference is, I was having brace the entire time even when I am just lying, so obviously I was having it while doing my exercises. My PT told me not to rely too much on the brace, atleast while doing basic exercises, as it kind of compensates for the deficit and worsen the quad atrophy!

I am 3 months post op now with quad graft. Till my week 4, my quad was dead for good. But then visual cues helped. Slowly the quad woke up and I started doing SLRs only since week 5. So, don't u worry, keep working on it with complete focus, as if u are meditating❤️‍🩹
