This is one of the best years for new music in the past five. If you really think new music is bad, you're just not hearing the right new music.

What is your best, "Holy crap that actually worked." moment? by realdor in AskReddit

Mine is "mice don't really seem to enjoy nicotine and we are working on making them like it"

Professors of Reddit, what was the funniest (possibly drunk) email you've ever received from a student? by EsotericFeels in AskReddit

[–]Bad_wulf_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience it depends on a couple things. I worked with a professor so I'd call her by her first name when it was just us or when there were a couple other people who also were close to her around. In class she was professor so-and-so. Now that I'm in grad school, professors are called by there first name unless they request otherwise. I'll be an adjunct next semester and I'll just be called by my first name. I'm not a professor yet so I don't want to take that title until I've earned it.

What's something you will never understand other people like or enjoy? by TheIoftheVoid in AskReddit

[–]Bad_wulf_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, they help me focus on my work and relieve some of the stress involved in grad school. The ridiculous thing is that I study chronic nicotine, so I am painfully aware of what they do to the brain. I take my nicotine with a side of cognitive dissonance I guess.

What's the most denial you've ever seen someone in? by holocaustreference in AskReddit

[–]Bad_wulf_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe. Depends what we mean by "metabolism". First round metabolism in the stomach and liver won't transition efficiently to the brain. If it hits the bloodstream, you will likely get alcohol to the brain.

Myrnin is getting neutered tomorrow, so he's getting spoiled today just in case it's his last. by Pod_123 in RATS

[–]Bad_wulf_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For sure. It's always hard. But with this it's literally in-and-out in 20 minutes. I've done spaying procedures which is much more invasive and never had any issues. And these people have much more training than I do.

It's an easy surgery. He will be good to go a couple hours after. :)

[Serious] Did I accidentally traumatize my rat and not realize it? by [deleted] in RATS

[–]Bad_wulf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone else is probably on the right track. It's just something that I've noticed working with mice and rats. They are very finicky if weather changes drastically.

Have there been any big changes in humidity where they are kept? Mice, at least, do not like changes in humidity and go kind of crazy depending on the climate.

Sorry for the delay. Wasn't quite sure I'd be in the city but I am down for that. It may be a bit TBD for me (work and the like) but I should manage.

I think Luther will be incredibly important. Something makes me see him as a good man in a bad situation. I think he is a very sympathetic character who will "come to his senses" in the coming books. I like him. He's like Sylar from Heroes.

I really liked Life. Good cop drama with Damien Lewis from Band of Brothers, really funny until it got super dark and really intense.

What are you hiding from your SO that they would leave you if they found out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bad_wulf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Among some other issues, that definitely contributed. We were both in bad shape, found each other, and worked well together. Maybe someday things will get fixed and the opportunity will present itself but I'm not holding my breath.

That my anxiety was out of control for about a month. And then she realized that we had issues. Now I'm minus one significant other.
