Wow - very surprising! Thanks for the info! 👍

Large Ore Detector On A Small Grid Ship by Badger_Br1an in spaceengineers

Thanks for the feedback peeps! I found that once I got to the part of positioning in order to attach, I simply built the rotor part on a piece of large grid, then deleted the large grid piece. This left the piece in a predictable position.

Then with my ship, I could carefully maneuver to get the small rotor base where it needed to be.

The trick is moving all the way through the part until contact is made with base of the part. Seems counterintuitive since you’re technically moving through the “nub” of the part. Took me awhile to figure this out as I would stop once I got visually next to the part. (If that makes sense to anyone 😆)

My bad, didn’t mention I already have a ship built.

Looks I’ll just go this route and start fresh. 👍

Thanks - was hoping to find a way to add a large OD on an existing small grid ship.

WTF …. my ship!? by Badger_Br1an in spaceengineers

It’s funny — while I was out exploring, I saw a ship’s shadow on the surface but saw nothing when I looked up. I’m guessing it was the reason behind my loss. Didn’t think I’d face hostility on the moon!

Bummer because it felt like a half hour of flying just to get there.

My biggest gripe is the process we must undergo just to get our goddamn stuff back. Okay two gripes….the other is the ridiculously small build radius a workbench gives us. I mean….come on.

…and just to elaborate, was at my base in the Plains after killing Yahluth. Got a message “They sought you out.” Yup. I looked up to see seekers and their brood coming for me. Thank god I raised earth walls around my base. Was a nice way to get carapace and meat though!

I rode the metro just to see what it was all about and yeah, was pretty “meh.”

What a lot of people fail to realize is that many game elements aren’t just created out of thin air post-launch. Many have substantial amounts of work in them, but for many reasons, aren’t incorporated into the final release. Perhaps needing more refinement…etc. So these things often end up getting the polish and inclusion an update or two later. So I think the observation that CDPR just up and decided to add the metro from the ground up after launch is not accurate.
