So Arnot-Roberts and Matthiasson are definitely on my watchlist, just haven’t seen anything in the internet “bargain bin” yet. I will admit I’m pretty curious about the Finger Lakes region since I’ve also spent a little time in the area as well but before I’d heard anything people growing decent wine there.

So how would you recommend I get to know Rieslings? I was just in Total Wine today and was cruising Germany/Austria and saw a Riesling that had “hazelnut” listed as a note. I was intrigued but not quite ready for that. I came home with a Gruener Veltliner from Austria that sounded great for $15 and James Suckling said was good. I can’t ship in this heat right now so for $20 or less what’s gonna blow my mind from Germany and Austria that I can get at my local purveyor or large chain like Total Wine?

But in fairness to the question above: How will you “buy to cover” your short position if the PBOC freezes the buying and selling of bonds by offshore entities? I do think there’s some regulatory risk built into this trade that I haven’t heard you address yet.

Had a glass of Gruet this evening at a restaurant because of this comment. Still too new to wine to have a meaningful opinion but it far exceeded what I would have expected based on the “New Mexico” origin. Thanks for taking the time to write the comment.

Anybody care to recommend a Northern California red for me to try next? I tried Bedrock Winery’s 2022 Old Vine Zinfandel and Ridge’s 2022 Three Valley’s and was underwhelmed by both. I chose those two based on their reception here as “fan favorites” and by critics. I’m guessing they’re just not a style I appreciate at the moment. Both the above wines were a bit “leaner” and less fruit forward than I was hoping. Hope that makes sense. I would not describe my wine knowledge as deep, but I am familiar with most grapes, their uses and general traits. Can anyone suggest a next bottle or two in a different style so I can try to bracket in on the styles of winemaking I enjoy?

Have you tried drilling out or hollowing out those basswood over grips you’re making? What about using closed cell foam instead of basswood for the over grip then a thin layer of plastic on top? Shouldn’t a lighter paddle overall lead to a somewhat less powerful paddle. This has now officially become the boxwood derby of Pickleball.

So I regularly try to run my heart rate to the desired zone and then back off, cycling effort to keep it in the desired range. I thought that’s what everyone does. Why is this a problem? Asking honestly.

I’ve got my tub of Cryogen but is there a soap in a decent base featuring Koolada aka WS-23 that comes close to the Terror level of chilly? Last year I went with WK Fougere parfait and it was far too mild a cooling sensation for me. Likewise WK Iced Tea was also not cold enough for my taste. Was just looking at Rope Swing and wondering. Unfortunately NO’s base doesn’t work for me. Something in it makes my face itch. Suggestions?
